Are You Happy With Your Life???

No, I'm not happy. I'm happier than I would have been as a JW for sure, but things did not turn out as I'd envisioned. I guess I'll go get off my butt and go improve things...

i must say, i never thought that i would see the day when i would find a site about disillusioned (mostly) jehovah's witnesses, but low and behold...one truly exists.

first let me start off by saying thank you to the creators of this site, and i'll have you know that i've been lurking for several days now and i am just finding the time to finally log on.

i've been a member of the borg for over 20 years now, been baptised for about 14 of those years and now i find myself in the most unusual of places.

Welcome, Pele! I think it's great that you're still going to meetings, yet "lurking" around here. And there are no such thing as apostates, guys! That's just a word the JWs made up, like "Boogyman".

Running??????

im really interested in starting to jog or run.. what would be a good speed to start and how far would be a good goal?.

i know power walking is about 6k an hour, for 30 to 40 minutes but what about running??

Hey, my goal is to run a marathon next year, so I know I need to start running now.

Saturday: ran/walked 45 minutes

Sunday: walked 4 hours

Monday: nothin'

Anyone in the Chicago area need a running partner to chat with about x-jw while sweating bullets?

Getting wedding invitations from people who really don't know you or care

i am sure many people get wedding invitations from people who don't really know you or care about you but who invited you just the same.

sometimes they got cancellations and had to fill a number or they want $$.

maybe you went because it "wouldn't look good" if you didn't.

We got an invitation and it took us a week to figure out who it was from. We had me them once!

Funny little story to share with my fellow pet lovers

dumb-dumb the cat has become the neighborhood sweetheart.

it is common to see little neighborhood children and adults alike stoop to pet him in passing.

he often makes the rounds in the evenings, going from door to door in the complex and saying hello through any open doors.

My wonderful cat was rescued last year, so we got him as a half-grown kitten, and he is just the best thing that ever happened to me. He's taught himself to fetch out of despiration. (I'd sit here with my books at my desk. I'd occasionally throw something for him to chase, but I was too lazy to go get it and throw it again, so my cat learned to just bring it back to me!)

Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With The Wind. Use men for money and then they die so you get to remarry the next rich one. And wear all those gorgeous dresses. And be dramatic and resourceful when times get bad. Use my charm to get out of a tough situation.

I keep thinking about your post, I'm not sure exactly the feeling you are having, but I'm sure I can relate. I think some people just arent' as sensitive to the big picture around them as others are. It's what helped you escape the JDubs, but also what keeps you from being happy. At least that's how I feel.

I don't know the answer, I'm looking for it too! Just keep trying, maybe today is a better day for you than yesterday.
