Is it wrong to hope that a loved one will die?
by Paralipomenon ini received a call last night that my grandmother had a stroke.
my first thought was "finally".
i know how awful that sounds, but her health has been deteriorating for years.

I worked as an ICU nurse for 5 years. After a while, you realize that it's really true, WE ALL DIE. I just hope each of us has a peaceful death instead of a long, drawn out, illness with many complications. I hope your grandmother had a full life, and has a peaceful death. I think it's great that you made her happy that one day, even if she did think you were her dad!

Was Anna Nichol Smith a symbol of the wrongs in society?
by free2beme ini just recently got back from maui, hawaii ... so if i am late to the party on this subject, sorry.
i just unplug from information, while on vacation.
although, while there we did hear that anna nichol smith died.

I guess I'm a little different too. I LOVED Anna Nicole Smith. Her show was hilarious: a big F-U to all the men in the world. So when I was mad at my husband, and I watched her, it was just hilarious.
I feel so sorry for her. Come on guys, don't you know of anyone else like her? That girl in school who was constantly throwing herself at the guys, but then you find out her parents practically neglected her, and she lives in a filthy trailer with no normal role models? That's who she was.
I personally feel that when she had the baby girl, she wanted a more stable life for the kid, so she told the lawyer-guy that he could be the "father" and that would be the end of it. I'm sure she was trying to do right. But how tragic that her son dies just 3 days later. I"m sure she just fell apart again.
I think it is one of the saddest things, representing, not "selfishness, greed" but what happens to someone who is neglected. If you're surrounded with wrong things, that's all you can soak up.

I missed all of my sister's 20's
by Crumpet ini think my sister is 29 today.
that means due to this vile cult i missed all of her 20's.
so desperately sad that a religion can break family ties this way.

Crumpet,
I just realized that you and I have "known" each other for about 3 years or so, and I am in my late 20's. You're a great person, and give the most honest advice. Your sister is truly missing out. Hope you two will be reunited someday, but until then, know that you are appreciated by so many!
Hugs,

A surprise result on my Dna geneaology test.
by moshe ini asked earlier this year if anyone had joined the national geographic's genographic dna ancestry research project.
i decided to do it a couple months ago and also signed up with the testing lab to see , if i matched with any unknown cousins.
it took about 2 months for the cheek swab to be processed and i have my results.

MY WITNESS FRIEND DIED
by Mary infurther to this topic i started a few weeks ago: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/124404/1.ashx i just found out that she died the other night.
we hadn't been close in a number of years, due to me becoming inactive, but i remember alot of the good times too.
she was older than me and offered to study with me when i was 14, which led to my getting baptized.. i remember that she tried for several years to get pregnant, and how happy she was when she finally conceived.

So sorry about that Mary. Sounds like she knew how to bend the rules a bit. (A whole bottle of wine!) I hope the funeral goes well, and if no one else does, you can be the person to talk to her son.

I started drinking. What fun! Then it made it even more easy to flirt with the boys. Thankfully, my first worldly friend pulled me aside and cautioned me not to give out my phone number so often. Hey, it was all new to me!
