by ozziepost init isn't necessary to use words to convey a subliminal message.. take for example the use of illustrations (photos) found on page 26 in the february 15, 2001 issue of the watchtower.. the three pictures show witnessing in differenet parts of the earth, namely the east, europe, and africa.. 1. woman in smart asian dress with hat.. 2. man with black clothing replete with beret.. 3. african man with long sari type robe which is light brown in .
colour, quite smart and clean.. in each picture the witness is dressed in western business clothing whereas the person being witnessed to (the worldly person) is in native dress.. is this another subliminal message?
native or customary dress marks an individual as wordly?.

What happened in 97-98 to reduce the increase?

I got out in 1999 and AOL enabled me to realize and appreciate that there were good souls out there that had nothing to do with JWs. Combined with knowing, and having known for a long damn time, that it was all BS, this use of the Internet allowed me to get out with confidence that my social prospect was not doomed forever.

Head coverings yet again in the latest KM
by life is to short inmy husband just gave me the latest km the novermber 2013 and it yet again has a question box on head coverings.. question box "should a female publisher wear a head covering if she is accompanied by a male pubisher at a doorstep bible study?".
it says "when a female publisher conducts a reagular, scheduled bible study and a male kingdom publisher is present, she should wear a head covering.
(1 cor 11: 3-10) the july 15 2002, issue of the watchtower page 27, explains: "this is a prearranged session of teaching where the one conducting the the study actually presides.

Eve made our periods painful
by rebel8 ini was just remembering this teaching--that a mythical woman ate a piece of fruit 1000s of years ago after a snake told her to, and that's the reason we have menstrual pain.. you see, the bible says eve was cursed for her sin with painful childbirth.
hence we can make up extrapolate that this includes menstruation, which is just part of childbearing.
then we can make up extrapolate that this applies to all females in the entire human race today, because according to a loving god we should all share in her sin as we all have vaginas too.. i remember crying in total agony while i was insulted comforted by having this scripture and explanation read aloud to me, and thinking how much this knowledge drew me closer to jehovah made me realize what a misogynistic wackadoodle cult this was.. thor causing thunder is more plausible than this.. if dubs take midol, does that mean they are scoring jehovah's lesson?.

i was surprised this week by calls from active jws complaining about the new magazine format, and more begging for money from the platform.. frankly i was surprized by this reaction since this is old news to jwn members.
i guess actually shuffling to the bookroom and grabbing the new "awake tracts" minus the inside cover forward ...awakened many sleepy, catatonic, bored jws who never read the things or go on the internet anyway.. any feedback from other areas?.

I can't think of a way to appropriate or rehabilitate that scripture. Once the facts get in the way (cranial size: forebrain, long-term memory, past/present/future, imagination, linguistics, symbols, tools - all the things required to think about God and do stuff to his glory), this becomes trite. There are the hormone swings. I think males have hormone/chemical/mood swings in their own manner.
