How Do You Know You Are In The Wrong Religion?
by Vanderhoven7 ini believe this list which many of us worked on needs to see the light of day again...and added to if possible.. you know you are in the wrong religion:1. when the all important question is not: "do you believe in the lord jesus christ?"....but....
"do you believe in the "faithful and discreet slave" appointed in brooklyn in 1919?"2.
when you will be refused baptism if: a. you don't believe jerusalem was destroyed in 607 bc (whereas all non-jw scholars, all encyclopedias and all history books say this event took place in 587 bc.)b.

In 2000, I realized that the WTS was not "god's organization." After researching many religions, I realized how many of the same flaws religions shared. So no other organized religions. Then I finally realized I did not need an unseen, cruel god words to guide me. I based my beliefs on how to show love others (and myself). I guess that means I am an atheist to many, but I am not an activist atheist. I am not try to get others to believe the way I do, did that already in another religion. Your points are so on the mark. It reminds me when I was a PIMO, I read Ray Franz' book, Crisis of Conscience, and I realized I was not alone in my questions and red flags. It was up and away after than.

God, Jesus, & Holy Spirit - never mentioned together in one authentic verse.
by BoogerMan inin every scripture where god & jesus appear, the holy spirit is always awol/mia.. probably explains the existence of binitarians..

The WTS stopped using the phrase "Jehovah's Christian Witnesses" in 1986. I was told there was that a group of ex-jws copyrighted that name. Think this is their FB page and in "about" they identify themselves as to being "jehovah's Witnesses" Jehovah’s CHRISTIAN Witnesses Help Hotline PO BOX 9784, Wyoming MI 49509. We are NOT Jehovah's Witnesses.

Just to add, I did not say that Matthew 28:19 was considered a valid scripture, but that the WTS does and includes it in the RNWT. I might add, I have never found a phrase "witnesses of Jehovah" in the New Testament of the bible but rather "witnesses of Jesus." The only place I have found it is in Isaiah 43:10 where it is referring to the jews and the WTS applies it only to the anointed as being spiritual Israelites. The WTS quibbles about it now. The WTS used to say Jehovah's witnesses, and companions. Technically, non-anointed jws are not jehovah's witnesses.

PROOF Mormons have the truth
by neat blue dog indaniel prophesied that god would “set up a kingdom” that would “never be destroyed” and would “stand for ever” (daniel 2:44).
in making this prophecy, he spoke of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints... and it will continue to progress until it has “filled the whole earth”... hundreds of thousands of people are baptized every year.
the book of mormon is being translated in many languages.

I have had extensive and deep conversations with LDS/Mormons over the years. Don't fool yourselves! Behind the curtain they are no different than giving the appearance of being closer to the "biblical" requirements. Try looking for an ex-Mormon website or discussion group, it will stun you. I have put LDS into confusion with the contradictory concocted for them statements many times. Look into it carefully, Many never been jws only see the mask they use at the door, Mormons and jws. LDS has similar problems concealing sexual abuse of minors as well.https://apnews.com/article/Mormon-church-sexual-abuse-investigation-e0e39cf9aa4fbe0d8c1442033b894660

Keeps the schedule of having 3 assemblages yearly of members. The WTS compares it to the 3 festivals celebrated by the Jews yearly in Jerusalem. If they stopped having 3 assemblages yearly, then the "scriptural" basis would disappear. It is like not mentioning 7,000 year creative days on which the WTS calculated 1975. Hasn't been mentioned since 1987 except a quote in 1989. Just gone with the wind.

Plagiarism at Gilead; an admission that shunning is cruel
by AEnEm inin the latest gilead graduation video, at around 1 hour, 2 minutes and 30 seconds, the speaker says that "being heard is so close to being loved that for the average person they are almost indistinguishable".. nice.
shame he doesn't quote the source (doesn't even say the wt phrase "it was once said").
a quick google attributes it to david w. ausburger in his book "caring enough to be heard: how to hear and how to be heard in equal communication".. the funny thing is that this flies in the face of shunning.

Over the years when the WTS uses a quote and does not cite the source, use Google putting quote marks around the quote, and then search. Many times the original source pops up. When jw.org used videos of non-jws video clip supposedly supporting the WTS view, examination of the quote proved that it was taken out of context. I sent a copy of that video of the person being quoted, she responded to me and thanked me. The video was taken down that same day. Wow!

How does God communicate with Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 ingilles gray writes:.
the short answer is, god communicates with jehovah’s witnesses very poorly indeed.. jehovah’s witnesses are the first to affirm that god doesn’t directly communicate with them at all.. however, this fact doesn’t stop them from making the baseless assertion that god communicates to them through reading the bible, through holy spirit and through their leaders (known as the governing body, or the faithful and discreet slave).. here is a claim made by one of the first leaders of the watchtower organisation:-.
communication through reading the bible.

I could never get a straight answer from an elder, circuit or district overseer, or even the 4 GB members I asked separately. Danced around it. The WTS says this about how their god communicates with a judicial meeting, elders meeting, or GB meeting. WTS statements, just reporting not supporting
Through the bible
Moved by his boundless love, Jehovah wanted to communicate with us. He chose the best possible way—a written “letter” penned by human writers under the guidance of holy spirit. As a result, Jehovah’s own wisdom is found in its pages. This wisdom is “very trustworthy.”
(But then the WTS says the only way to understand their god’s answer is for the WTS to explain it in their publications and from their “representatives.)
Through the elders
When the people of Israel left ancient Egypt, God’s orders for them came through Moses and Aaron. To survive the tenth plague, the Israelites had to obey the instructions to have a special meal and to splash some of the blood of a slaughtered sheep on the doorposts and lintels of their houses. That direction did not come to them by means of a voice out of heaven. No, they had to listen to the older men of Israel, who in turn received specific instructions from Moses. (Ex. 12:1-7, 21-23, 29) In those circumstances, Moses and the older men acted as bearers of Jehovah’s instructions to his people. Christian elders fulfill a comparably vital function today.
Through the governing body (a subset of the faithful and discreet slave)
Jehovah also speaks to us by means of “the faithful and discreet slave.” As Jesus foretold, a small group of anointed Christian men has been appointed to provide spiritual “food at the proper time” during these troublesome last days. (Matthew 24:45-47) When we read literature prepared to help us acquire accurate knowledge of the Bible and when we attend Christian meetings and conventions, we are being fed spiritually by that slave. Because it is Christ’s slave, we wisely apply Jesus’ words: “Pay attention to how you listen.” (Luke 8:18) We listen attentively because we recognize the faithful slave as one of Jehovah’s means of communicating with us.
(Never directly to an individual (not even a single governing body member but only by a majority vote of the body at their Wednesday meetings—at least it was. Thus the WTS/GB has cautioned individual FDS that any messages to the FDS will come through the GB not directly to them) The July 15, 2013, issue of The Watchtower explained that “the faithful and discreet slave” is a small group of anointed brothers who make up the Governing Body. And elaborate in a 2017 February WT study article Who is Leading God’s People Today?) Too many individual self-proclaiming FDS felt they were be given info from their god and not going through the GB. One female jw even said the elders had to take direction from her because she was anointed.

I remember reading on here suggested that District now Regional conventions would be changed to only 3 days total, and circuit assemblies all being just one day. Is this a part fulfillment. :)
