In our area, we have 4 congregations in one hall, another has 3 congregations, consolidating is the trend, it means that some of the 4 congregations have to have the traditional Sunday meetings on Saturday, and mid-week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I think some of the old-timers see this a big change from pre-1975 when KHs were being built and seated 250 people, (yes). For some congregations it means traveling farther such as 30 miles one way (60 miles total).

Changed behavior of the governing body on the topic of “vaccinations” in the Covid era
by Pedro ini'm looking for an explanation why the gb has made a radical change on the issue of vaccinations.
was there pressure from outside?
were there any financial or other benefits to promoting experimental genetic therapy?.

Actually, in 1950 the WTS changed their view on vaccinations,, probably because they were sending out "missionaries" to foreign assignments and some vaccinations were required. Watchtower 1952 Dec 15 p.764 Hence all objection to vaccination on Scriptural grounds seems to be lacking..." Many jws from that time seem to have missed that statement and pass on info that vaccinations are forbidden.

1997 WT quote: the matter was submitted for decision to “the apostles and older men who were in Jerusalem.” (Acts 15:2,6,20,22,23 16:4)) Why were “older men” now evidently on the governing body? The Bible does not say, but there was an obvious benefit.
(Is the phrase "governing body" in the scriptures above, no. But "elders and apostles". That is why the WTS uses the words "evidently" and "obvious," to distract from that fact. Always watch for the weasel words and phrases)

Are Atheists Hypocritical in Celebrating Christmas?
by Sea Breeze inrichard dawkins revealed that he celebrates christmas on radio four's today programme.. here is is quoted as saying: .

Many atheists I know celebrate December 21 Solstice Day with parties, music, etc. Not Christmas. Some say that Christmas was put near that date so pagans could still celebrate their non-Christian event.

The ''dreaded'' birthday cake
by RULES & REGULATIONS inthe watchtower—study edition | september 2023. study article 39. let mildness be your strength.
11 if a workmate asks, for example, why we do not celebrate birthdays, consider: could he be wondering whether we are allowed to have a good time?
or might he feel that our position will dampen the company’s team spirit?

Wow, FedUpJW. They knew I never had enough money to be asked. If so, I would have asked how much he had given and see what excuse he would come up with. My husband handled accounts, and the elders said many could not donate because too poor, but not poor enough to rent 10 videos a month for $50. I guess they thought that the widow's mite (sorry) did not mean much to their god.

NotFormer, actually there was a WT article in 1970 with a title with the phrase "Men of Goodwill"
It has many uses: for non-anointed jws that were "associates" of the anointed jws
And, finally people outside the WTS, who were somewhat "favorable" to the WTS message. The WTS also confusingly sometimes made the great crowd/other sheep not being included with "jehovah's witnesses" as if only the anointed were jws. As late as 2002:
The modern history of Jehovah’s Witnesses attests that they have been succored by their loyal companions, the other sheep, as these were moved by the spirit.
1950:
How do Jehovah’s witnesses and their companions praise God?
1951:
voluntarily from Jehovah’s witnesses themselves, from their associates, companions, persons of good will,
1965: Jehovah’s witnesses and their companions, are the only ones in the earth who are praising and blessing the most important, the most wonderful and the most holy name in all the universe, the name of Jehovah!

Carla, I did not say I had seen a form but was asking if someone had actually, seen a form. In the past, people at the meeting when a confidential count was to be made without signing or putting a name on it, that they were willing to donate outright or give a monthly donation to see if there was a possibility of getting enough money. No form, just blank piece of paper, no name or signature, confidential to everyone. Now I know other religions that have members sign a pledge of what they will donate monthly (some national headquarters, have a minimum donation, like $50 a month to be an official member) and sign it like a contract. So far nothing like that that I know of in the WTS. The congregation is told they are expected to donate $8.50 per publisher to headquarters, voluntarily probably not, but guilted into it.

Who will be killed at Armageddon?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA inif the current doctrine is that only baptised witnesses are going to survive and everyone else burns them what about this new update new light that some from before the flood and sodomites will be resurrected?.
but didn’t he mention at the agm something about there is no point jehovah killing them and then resurrecting them again?
it seems they are confused about what they teach and that’s why brother jackson joked about “is this what we used to believe or what we believe now?”.

I thought the WTS taught that the deadline of preaching being able to respond favorably to the WTS message, was until the great tribulation started. In 2021, "Our Kingdom-preaching work will not be finished until Jehovah says it is over. How much time is left for people to come to know Jehovah God and Jesus Christ? (John 17:3) We cannot say. We do know that until the great tribulation begins, any who are “rightly disposed for everlasting life” can still respond to the good news.Acts 13:48 How can we help these people before it is too late?
and in 2022:
As mentioned in the preceding article, the political elements of this world will soon turn on Babylon the Great, the world empire of false religion. (Rev. 17:16,17) This action will mark the beginning of the great tribulation. Will this result in a flood of new ones deciding to turn to the worship of Jehovah? No. To the contrary, (Revelation chapter 6) shows that at that critical time, people who are not serving Jehovah will seek protection from the political and commercial systems of this world, which are compared to mountains. Since those people will not take a stand in favor of God’s Kingdom, Jehovah will consider them to be opposers.—Luke 11:23; Rev. 6:15-17).
