Did your witness family have a 'Thanksgiving' that wasn't on Thanksgiving?
by SydBarrett inmy family had several elders, ministerial servants, auxillary pioneers etc, so it certainly wasn't one of those 'barely in' families.
but in certain small ways, i think mine were slightly less hard line than some other families i've heard stories about over the years.
one example was the 'fall dinner'.

Reporting Not Suppporting: And the WTS refers to Daniel's prophecy of the image as humans being in the time of the toes of that image "A prophecy in the book of Daniel enables us to establish where we are in the stream of time. Daniel describes an image in human form made up of different metals. (Dan. 2:28, 31-33) It represents successive world powers that have had a major influence on God’s people, past and present. They are Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome—and the last, in our time, another world power. A study of Daniel’s prophecy shows that this final world power is depicted in the image as the feet and toes. During World War I, Britain and the United States forged a special partnership. Yes, the fifth part of Daniel’s image is the Anglo-American World Power. The feet form the last part of the image, indicating that no other human world power will appear on the scene. That the feet and toes are made up of iron and clay pictures the weakened state of the Anglo-American World Power." WT 2012 9/15 p. 6 So the human family is in the "toes" of this prophecy. There are many terms used other than "last days" from other Christian religions and all have their own meaning attached. WTS says this: "At the start of the last days in 1914, there were only a few thousand servants of God." WT simplified 11/15/2015 p. 25 But the WTS has many ways to say when it will be the end of the last days: Great Tribulation, Armageddon, cry of peace and security, attack on Babylon the Great, etc., all which have changed date/time over the years and will change again. So the term is meaningless if it changes all the time.
Perhaps the WTS will say that we are in the toenails of the "toes."

Where Adam and Eve Vegan/Vegetarian?
by KerryKing injws seem to firmly believe that before the flood mankind eas vegan or at least vegetarian.. however, in gen 1:24,25 it says that god created livestock (domestic animals) and beasts of the eart (wild beasts).. why would adam and eve need livestock if they were vegan and naked?
wouldn't need wool or hide for clothing, nor meat for food.
possibly for dairy products only?

A good discussion by an ex-jw about vegetarianism:
https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/animals-vegetarian.php
Vegetarianism: Past and Future
Watchtower teaches that God created humans and all animals as vegetarians, changing them only after Noah's flood, and vegetarianism is destined again for Paradise earth. This is despite scientific evidence that animals were meat eaters well before the existence of humans.
Vegetarian
Watchtower doctrine explains that humans and animals were created vegetarian. It was not until 1600 years after Adam's sin that humans and animals started to eat meat, at the end of the Global flood of Noah. It is not explained why animals commenced preying upon each other at this point less than 4500 years ago, or why some animals are so suited to being predators. This is a significant concept, when considering how integral the food chain is to all life around us. (continues)

Sad observation
by Gorb inreading about jw.org rules changes these days gives me a sad observation.. everything what "is" today, can be gone tomorrow.. that makes it all worthless.
you were an elder, searching for evidence, and proof to df a person.
because he or she was not humble enough.

This is probably what the WTS uses to equate "removing" to "disfellowshipping."
WT 9/1/1962 p. 535
‘Remove the wicked man from among yourselves.’” (1 Cor. 5:11, 13)
...Paul did just that when he disfellowshiped Hymenaeus and Alexander for subverting the faith of some by false teachings.—1 Tim. 1:20; 2 Tim. 2:17, 18.

The org's "new lights" - corrupting Proverbs 4:18
by BoogerMan inproverbs 4:18 says, "but the path of the righteous....grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.".
the bible "light" doesn't get brighter - it never changes - it's a person's direction & course of life which gets brighter.. w11 9/15 p. 14 par.
15 - "when spiritual light on some matter gets brighter, do you try to understand the underlying scriptural reasons for the adjustment?

Brighter or Changed (small quote who article is great)
Regularly, Watchtower light is not brighter, it is vastly different than the past
Proverbs 4 identifies that righteous people fare better than the wicked, and not prophetic of the Watchtower Society. However, let us entertain the idea that within this passage there is the prophetic foreshadowing that God progressively reveals truth to his people during the time of the end. This concept cannot apply to Watchtower history, as Watchtower doctrine has not refined but changed. Consider whether the following change is really a matter of doctrinal light getting lighter:

Beth Sarim, I laid a trap for them, simple, innocuous questions, until the last one dropped and they went silent. I had recent quotes from the WTS for them to see and asked how that fits? They knew they were lieing and that I knew they were lieing, but I did not say they were lieing. Theyconvicted themselves and walked away. I was wise enough not to try to get other people to realize that in the congregation. They would have to see it themselves in the words of the elders and the rest of the WTS.

How many JW in the 1920's
by xaminewt ini'm trying to find out how many jw there were globally in 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927 and 1928. the watchtower of 1926 says that there were 25,000 in attendance at the magdeburg convention for the public address, but the same watchtower say that one the last day of the convention there were 15,000 present, so i assume at least 10,000 were interested persons - non jw.
the watchtower 1955 says: "for this year of 1927 the number in attendance at the spring memorial internationally was 88,544, yet of these only some 18,602 were active as house-to-house kingdom announcers".
these statistics would seem to imply that the majority of jw in 1926 were at the magdeburg convention.

jwfacts.com https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/1925.php
The converse occurred after 1925 came and went without incidence. Memorial attendance dropped by three-quarters, from 88,544 in 1927 to just 17,380 in 1928. (Watchtower 1955 p.366; Yearbook 1929 p.55) (Jehovah's Witnesses in the Divine Purpose p.313) It is estimated that as many as 75% of publishers left the religion and by 1935 memorial attendance was still only 63,146.3 It took until 1940 to once again reach the same number of Watchtower followers as the pre-1925 era.
