Sorry to whomever I offended
by Bubbamar ini made a post yesterday on the thread about the living water - jw-breakaway-cult and posted a quote from their website where they say that god wants to kill homosexuals because he really hates the sinner, not just the sin.
then i said something like, "so, see, god hates queers.
" my post was deleted because one of the mods received a couple of complaints.. i would like to formally apologize to whomever was offended.

10. The next time temptation comes, do fifty push-ups, then fifty sit-ups. If you are still burning, repeat the process (see 1 Corinthians 9:27, and 1 Corinthians 7:9). This is not just a random "get your mind off it" exercise. This produces a physical reaction that is the equivalent of what is often called a "cold shower."
Masterbation is exercise right?Hah! What a bunch of bullshit, at least in my case. I do a very vigorous work out, including circuit training and cardio. When I am done, I am all shakey and full of adrenaline. All I want to do is fuck after a good work out. nothing like adrenaline sex to cool down. Cold showers don't work anyway. I get into the shower, turn the hot water on and soap up until I know Jehovah's either taking notes or wheting his sword for my second bamitvah.
The thing with "madmary" is that she has probably never done a sit-up or a push-up since her 6th grade fitness test. She is currently sitting with her nose in her pc monitor wearing a large moo-moo, eating twinkies and chain-smoking capri 120's waiting to wack the next poster who even implies he has a thought all his own. She is basically nurse Ratchet and really needs a full frontal labodomy . . . either that, or for someone to put a pillow over her head and smother her to death. She also lives with 17 cats and does not believe in litter boxes. Eating catfood? Why not she says to herself. She is the gal that goes to her favorite bar alone, has a few beers and plays video poker while working up the courage to sing a karaoke tune, the same tired old "the rose" in the key of 3, because she really has the hots for the karaoke DJ, a fat pot-smoking, jack and coke drinking sleaz bag named Stephen Chance Courtney who still sports a 1980's Hall and Oats mullet and really gaudy western wear from WalMart, complete with bolo tie, collarless shirt and and silk vest. His boots are Tony llama elephant skin, purchased at Sacks in Killeen Tx for $75.00 during their going out of business sale in 1992. He visits the 99cent store and stocks up on imposter cologns and soaks himself liberally after skipping a shower that week.
I am going over to take a peak. This should be fun.

The e-watchman site helped my wife see the truth about JW's. It opened the door for her to start thinking outside of the cult.
I agree that the site can be beneficial for that purpose. It shouldnt' take much more critical thinking to get past the E-Watchman's bull crap rather than get sucked into it. There is always the danger of staying in the org by listening to and believing what the idiot says in his essays. I can't believe there are so many that post there that are more like Stepfords than I have ever seen. They go from bad to worse once they get to believing his rhetoric.
Ever read what they post over on the message board? Creepy.

The Daddy Difference
by teejay inmy sister sent me this article from the june issue of ladies home journal.
here are some excerpts... .
the daddy difference .

I loooove how it's also the woman's "responsibility for creating devoted dads". According to this scapegoater, the woman needs to "actively encourage father involvement", cuz uh, yeah, that's exactly what men want....someone nagging them about how to fulfill their role. So, I guess this means that if the Dad isn't devoted, the fault naturally defers to the woman. Who the f*ck writes this sh*t?
I wasn't getting that the writer was saying it was mom's responsibility to create a father at all. I found the writer to be speaking to a woman's tendency to naturally be the gatekeeper, implying that many mothers try to buffer their children from the father instead of inciting trust and confidence in his parenting ability, not to mention the invisible import and effect he carries on his children.
In my first marriage, my wife made it very clear through action and attitude that it was my job to make money and punish the kids when she was pissed off at them. I was the terrible threat looming over the children's heads should they mess up. I wasn't permitted to be any kind of a nurturer, and I believe that many mothers practice this attitude to some degree. I think the article was letting dads like me know that no matter what a controlling mother says, thinks or does, we are needed and contribute more than we ever suspected. It was also letting mother know that she isn't the end-all beat-all and the one thing her kids need more than anything, and she should let go a bit and trust the natural role of a dad and its importance.

Could You Post Here Then Return To The KH?
by Englishman inis it possible for someone to post reams of anti-jw stuff at this site, then repent for what they have done and go back to the kingdom hall to become fully-fledged witnesses once more?.
a couple of posters that i have met personally and spent mutually enjoyable exchanges with, have actually disappeared off the face of the earth and covered their tracks behind them.
i'm sure that in at least one instance, the guy has returned to the fold.. maybe it's me that they can't abide and it's nothing to do with jw's!!.

I would only go back if I could walk into the Kingdom Hall as brother Bufford Pusser

Look at the USA for gods sake ... it's full of religious nut jobs who tune in to Benny Hinn and ring in with their credit card numbers ...
(not so) Great (anymore) Britain has its share of religious nutjobs as well. Do we recall the Brittish missionaries and their zaney antics?
The name fundamentalist was coined in 1920 to designate those "doing battle royal for the Fundamentals." Also figuring in the name was The Fundamentals, a 12 volume collection of essays written in the period 1910 - 15 by 64 British and American scholars and preachers. Three million copies of these volumes and the founding of the World's Christian Fundamentals Association in 1919 gave sharp identity to fundamentalism as it moved into the 1920s.
. . . and science has never had its frauds either.

"I was going down the wrong path, I was using drugs, drinking, and thinking about suicide when the JW's came to my door. They helped me to stop using drugs and alcohol and saved my life."
"I use to beat my wife and drink heavily. The WT helped me to change and be more loving to my wife."
"I was lost in my life and wanted to know God. I was praying for direction and help understanding the Bible when the JW's came knocking at my door."
We have all heard stories like these over and over from those we knew personally, from the magazines, and perhaps even we ourselves have a similar story to tell as to how the WTBTS helped us.
Once we were IN, once we had been helped out of our sad situation in the world before we came to learn "the truth", were we really assisted in human growth, did we grow our own solid spiritual legs, did we really become our own spiritual person forming a deep meaningful personal relationship with God, or did we simply become helpless in a new way? Does anyone else suspect we were helped simply to keep us helpless and reliant upon the WT to tell us what to think, feel and believe thereafter?

The blood transfusion refusal will be a major issue if the DA decides to prosecute for murder. The defense can argue that the JW could have or would have lived had he not refused blood. If the defense is successful, this will at least decrease the perps sentence considerably.

Another reason to hate the WTS.
by CountryGuy inyou know what i hate most about the wts?
that no matter how much you think you've put it all behind you... it still comes up and smacks you over the head every now and then.
saturday night, i visited my local bookstore/coffee shop.

Countryguy, seeing the old "friend" and having them treat you like you have the black death obviously ripped a scab off a fresh wound. I am sorry that you had that sad and loveless experience. I wish I could tell you the best way to move on, but it's different for everyone.
Go back and get that sugar-free mocha, have a good cry and have someone you love and trust just hold you tightly.
