Why, then, do tests and trials befall many of God's loyal ones, causing them much pain and suffering?

The WT answer to this question is just disgusting. If they are "God's loyal ones," how in the world is it their fault? The Watchtower Society makes me sick. It is never the "slaves" fault only the rank and file, Satan, or the ever present "world."

Thanks again for all your hard work bringing these articles to our attention so we know what bilge is being taught to our family members and loved ones.

as a jw..did you ever have a REAL theological discussion with anyone?

this came up in a conversation with a non witness friend lately.

he said its like i thought i was having theological discussions all the time but from what he could tell...i would go to the door with prearranged comments, which would illicit one of a few comments and my response would be as programmed as the initial comments.

i'm no brainy person.. and freely admit i'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Are you kidding? When I was a JW pioneer I thought I was smarter than anyone I would meet at the door and since I had moved "where the need was great" I thought I was more spiritual than any other JW in my congregation.

WOW was I shocked when I learned the "real" truth.

Thanks once again, Blondie, for all your hard work and excellent comments.

In paragraph 20 they have 1 Timothy 6:19 to show that Jesus promised everlasting life on the earth. If JW's would read the verses before and after they would see that that scripture does not show that at all, but is actually talking about the leaders of their cult when it says, ""O Timothy, guard what is laid up in trust with you, turning away from the empty speeches that violate what is holy and from the contradictions of the falsely called "knowledge." For making a show of such [knowledge] some have deviated from the faith." Yes, the GB have truely deviated from the faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Sorry to burst your misinformed bubble, but

VENGEANCE BELONGETH UNTO ME, I WILL RECOMPENSE, saith the Lord

that scripture is used ALL THE TIME at the Baptist Church I attend.

What I suggest is that you visit around to all the churches in your city or town and really understand what is preached. Until you do you have no idea what is said at the church service.

i think back at some of the simpler things we couldn't do or have because we were a witness.

i hardly know my father's (worldly) side of the family.

didn't know my grandfather, grandmother, aunts, uncles, cousins.

Oh, my... you've not been to many churches have you?

When I was a JW I was also taught churches never use the name Jehovah. The very first church service I ever went to they used the name all through the sermon. Hmmm wonder what that showed me????

Jehovah's Witness Cemeteries

i recently stumbled upon a site that indicated a jehovah's witness cemetery.

i wondered if there might be others?

i conducted a search and voila.

I went to the Kingdom Farm cemetary when I was about 10 years old - 50 years ago. Back then they did not have any head stones because that was making an idol out of the dead person. They said Jehovah knew where they were buried and could resurrect them after Armageddon.

I attended the International Conventions of the 50's held in Yankee Stadium. I was living in New York City at the time. I can remember Knorr giving the Sunday talk and everyone clapping at the designated moments and anxiously awaiting new books.

We rode the subways and fought the crowds... why? I have no idea... It seems rather silly now that I look back on it.
