i told her of an incident that i think about on occasion, that sort of spurred my decision to leave amongst other things, too!
i was baptized by this time and going out in service regularly, although i wasn't officially on the school i would be someones househoulder for their parts.
Blondie's question: were you an unbaptized publisher or a member of a JW family going to the KH or baptized (even if inactive) when you married this worldly man?
I was pregnant before I married him, but was unbaptized at that time...we had been married for about 5-6 years when the incident happened. I had been baptized for more than a year at that point. But I guess they can make up their own rules for things, and I'm not one to stir up trouble about it to the elders.

My father, an elder, had a part on the service meeting and asked me to give a demonstration with another sister. I readily agreed, because my daddy asked. (I used to be daddy's girl) Anyway, he asked me to help with the demo then returned to me later, either that eve or the next meeting and told me that I was not allowed to do the demo. Because I was married to a 'worldly' man!! I said, are you serious?? He had discussed his part with another elder and they in turn told him that I could not do the demo because of my husband!! Still to this day I'm stunned at that incident. My husband is a wonderful, caring man!! Better than some of the JW husbands I've heard of...
Has anything like this ever happened to anyone else??
one of my former bs conductors and her husband decided when they got married, they wouldn't have any kids 'in this system'.
i know the world could be better, but i see no reason not to have children if that's what your wishes really are....and you're able to for that matter.
she just turned 34 and really wants to have a child.
I remember of a sister & brother that had decided not to have children. then about 7 years into their marriage the husband wanted a kid, but the wife did not. But according to 'honor thy husband' she had to have one. then she did have a second child a couple years later too. she was a loving mother but she was an auxilary (sp?) pioneer and didn't want it to affect her time, I guess.
Myself, I was pregnant before marriage and my mother was not really angry, she had been telling me for a couple of years that she wanted a grandchild, and I would laugh and ask if she wanted a son-in-law with that...LOL
I kinda didn't want kids, just the pain of pregnancy scared me. but when I had kids I probably would have had a dozen if my husband didn't get the vasectomy after the 2nd one...

He used his cell phone to call a friend and tell him to bring a scale. The friend
got there and the scale topped out at 100 pounds. They took it to the nearby Bait
Shop and weighed it there. It weighed 121 pounds!
Luckily a Game Warden was there and called the Athens Freshwater Fisheries
Center and asked them if they wanted the fish. They sent a 'live truck' to the site
and brought the fish safely to Athens.
They are getting it ready for the public to view. The paper said that it would be
two to three weeks before they'd release it into the public tank.
They estimated that the 121 pound catfish was about 27 years old!
