  since you hijacked jez's thread, i borrowed her words for the title of your very own "welcome back brownboy" thread.. this can be fun.

  everybody can ask you questions about bible prophecy and such, seeing as you and him are so close and all.

  hi all.... just found out my stepdaughter is getting ready to move to washington state to be with some jw guy.

  all i know is that he lives in the seattle area and they met online.

  anybody w/connections either to the seattle jw "community" or have an "in" to any of the jw match up sites please pm me.. we think she's making a huge mistake.... thanks,.

  every year, a new jw calendar comes out, and i say to myself, the watchtower should feel more and more stupid each year knowing that what they prophesized didn't happen once more.. i wonder what will be this year's theme written on the calendar?.

  i was at university the other night in the computer lab, cruising this site, well a fellow classmate who has been in my class since sept and we have become friends, walks past, looks at the site i am on and says, "i noticed you are on a jw site, did you know i am a jw, are you one?".

  i was shocked.

  i turned to him and let loose,.

  Jez, You really gave a good witness. Maybe he will do some thinking. He has to know you knew what you were talking about. It's a good feeling to think maybe someone will listen to some of us who were once in their shoes.

  bit of background.

  i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".

  i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.

  When I seen it was a lie I really didn't want to believe it.My first thoughts were "what am I going to do" then I started thinking "what do I mean what am I going to to do." I knew I had to get out no matter what the cost and so far the cost hasn't been too bad but it may get that way later.It has been almost a year since I left.One son and his wife is out but I still have Kids and grandkids in it.I am happy to know the truth but at the same time sad because so many sincere ones are in.It's even worse knowing you can't do much to help them. Well that's my story. I am new at this so want to tell all hi and hope to get acquainted.

  i've just received an email from a non-jw friend who is discussing some issues with a non-internet'ed jw and would like to offer some quotes.. i'm afraid i've lost track of some stuff and haven't time to find them right now.. can anyone help with any part of this?

  i'm crap at pulling up links from this site, and i know many of these sujects have been discussed here.wt quotes that say jesus isn't the great crowd's mediatorrandy's citation of the 10/1 or 1/10 1993 wt that encourages witnesses to hate apostatesquotes where the wts said you must be a member to be savedthe threads on the 144,000 doctrine (i can think of at least a couple in the last year)threads regardling doctrine changes, especially regarding the "generation change"a rebuttal to "witnesses are the 1st on every disaster scene and help to rebuild non-witnesses' houses, etc.

  anyway, any focus on humanitarian efforts are just like 'polishing the brass on the titanic'".. i've already sent the link to "quotes" site, and am in the middle of answering a number of other questions.. any help would be gratefully received.. thanks in advance..

  here is what I know about 1914 doctrain:April 15,1961 page236 stated those who were alive in 1914 would not pass away before the end of the world.also May1,1967 page262says the generationthat saw the beginning of the time period would also see the ending. October 8,1968 said 54 yearsof the periodcalled the last dayshave already gone by....only a few more years remain before this system is distroyed by God.Jesus was speaking of youngsters 15 years of age who were old enough to realize the import of what happened in 1914.They are 70 years old today. By 1984 teens in 1914 were in their 80's. now the Watchtower reversed themselfs to include Babies born in 1914 when calculating the lengthof the generation.[May 15,1984 page . Today those babies are 90 years old so now they change the meaning of thw word "generation" and say 1914 is the beginning of the last days. Doing this they don't have to defend the doctrain anymore Now the July 15, 1984 page 20 under "Build a secure future" last paragraph says: "Never forget God's organization is the only one that will survive the end of this dying system." The insight of the scriptures vol.2 page362 at bottom left side says Jesus is Mediator only to the annointed. Hope this has helped.

  The Watchtower will never change because they can't give up the 1914 doctrain. That organization is built on the 1914 doctrain.

  they have it fixed now so they don't have to cover up for it anymore.It is run by Apostates.

  what do you read at Matthew 27:52,53 ?

  reading my bible daily ,i am enjoying what i read, especially not having to constantly refer to wt literature all the time .but simply reading what is in black and white in the holy scriptures.. i came across this portion of scripture at matthew 27:52,53 .

  and the memorial tombs were opened and many bodies of the holy ones that had fallen asleep were raised up,(and persons,coming out from among the memorial tombs after his being raised up,entered into the holy city,)and they became visible to many people.. two things that come to my mind from this portion of scripture.

  1/ dead people are raised ie holy ones.. the society says that these were bodies that became visible that fell out from the tombs because of the earthquake ??.

  This is what I read at Matthew 27:51-54. I believe the earthquake caused a lot of tombs to open and dead bodies appeared to many but I don't think any were resurrected to life.I don't think Jesus went to Heaven when he said "Into your hands I command my Sprit" because at John20:17 he told Mary not to touch him because he had not yet ascended to the Father.This is my thoughts. I am new here and have been out of the Watchtower organization for about a year. It took me awhile but I can now see that organization for what it is . A cult!

  1 in hebrews 10:25 bible says .

  .not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.

  Hebrews10:25 was fullfilled in Paul's day. They were living close to the time when Jerusalem was going to be destroyed. Personaly, I believe the faithful slave was John. Read Rev.1:1. Society adds the word "class"and you know what the Bible says about adding to God's word! They can't prove they have the annointed ones.Ask them were their proof is. Just because they say so, doesn't mean squat! They even said the end of the world would come in 1914, 1916 1925 1975, and several other times but none of it came true. They even prophesyed in Gods name. They said "The Creator promises the generation of 1914 would not pass away untill all these things are fullfilled." Now read Deuteronomy 18:21-22 and see what God says about those who prophecy falsely in his name. Hope this helps you to see they are not God's organization and neither is any other religious organization that man has started.

  in the jehovah's witness church, the elders were allowed to tell other church members because everyone in the church is considered an ordained minister.

  but they were not allowed to tell authorities outside the church, the court records said.

  i wonder if she misunderstood?.

  All a child molester in JW Organization has to do is lie and say they are sorry and remain in good standing.this has happened twice where I used to attend.One was sent to prison and left in good standing. I heard he is conducting Bible studies in prison.The other one sits at meetings and comments as if nothing ever happened. When someone felt compelled to warn others in the congregation, that person was disfellowshipped while the sex offender is in good standing. The Watchtower Society has no problem quoting the media in pages of the watchtower and awake when the Catholic church is being exposed for such matters but when they, themselfs are under scrutiny, they say the media can't be trusted and is being used by the Devil and we should close our mindto the information presented.Just wanted to share and say HI to all. I am new at this post.
