HELP! I got a call from an elder today!

an elder in my hall finally called me after 7 months after me moving out on my own.

he was inquiring about how i was doing and which hall i needed my publishers card sent too.

(of course i did not ansewr and he left a message) up until now, my parents still think i go to meetings (although even my mom has been wondering why my publishers card has not been sent over) i keep stalling insisting i don't know why and that i am regular at meetings and service.

WHAT DO I DO? Just come right out and tell my family I am not attending meetings anymore? Can I be D'F for that or do I have to do something outright bad?

Stillawitness, it may not be the same where you are but I have told my kids and grandkids, also a friend [I thought] who said she would save me a seat if I decided to come back. I told them all I was never coming back and that has been about 3 years. They [not even the elders ] have bothered me since. And my family still speaks to me. Someday they may decide to DF me but it looks good so far.

Do JW's stay In the Organization to avoid embarassment?

i just read this behavior study- called the asch study.

it seems to explain why jw's agree with obviously false wt teachings and ignore warnings inside the organization.

it is all to avoid embarassment from peers, friends and family.

moshe, everyone was glad I got out [family who were not JWs] and they never laughed at me either. In fact I had to tell my nephew he was right about it being a cult. And I did think how embarassing it was going to be but left anyway leaving my immediate family behind.

What are the qualifications for being of the "annointed"?

am i correct to say that the "annointed" are the 144,000 that will be with jesus in heaven, according to the watchtower?.

if so, in ....luke 23:43...jesus said to "dismas" (the good thief) who was also being crucified along with jesus, "truly i tell you today you will be with me in paradise".. wouldn't this make dismus "one of the annointed"?.

wouldn't this also show that dismus, who had no qualifications for being of the annointed, went to heaven with jesus and became one?.

why does everyone want other to depend on them so bad?

is their independance a threat to their plans and intentions?.

Anarchy means without government. WTS is against independent thinking. They think and you do or you are an Apostate. Independent thinking is a threat to them.

to that end, we have constructed a daily bible reading program, that helps an individual systematically cover the entire bible, in one year.

Any ex- witness catholics out there?

i'm just curious - it seems to me that there was no religion so vilified by by jws as the catholics - most esp pre vatican ii (ie - 50's early to mid '60's).

are there any tht either returned to their catholic roots, or were raised jw and converted?

I was baptized a JW for 31 years and finally woke up. There is not a religion on earth God is using. All are money hungry and greedy persons will not inherit God,s Kingdom. God does not need a religion to represent him because he has his word "the Bible."

well in the bible it says said by jesus christ himself... that "the true religion will be the relgion everyone despises and hates.".

is this not the relgion of jehovahs witnesses?..

look in the bible itself it says in john 15:18-19. jesus says, "if the world hates you, you know it has hated me before it has hated you.

What the hell is the WTS saying about evolution now?

did anyone read the recent wts "special article" about creation and evolution?

i read it and fell of my freaking seat.

get this, the wts now believes (and yes, they want everyone to agree or else) that god created the universe billions of years ago and that nothing was created in six days as shown in genesis!.

The Inquisition. Have you been a victim?

reading crisis of conscience, the part of the inquisition of the chairmans committee is very disturbing to me.

has anyone here been before the jc and treated in such a secretive and destructive manner?

with my temperment i would probably tell them go to hell and walk out.

hambeak, I haven't but my son was. He said they ask him , If there was anyway he could be wrong and my son told them "Yes, and there are four of you, surely one of you can show me." One of them said "No, we can't, you have done too much research." And another one said "That's not what we're here for." Then they DF him for apostasy. I tried to get my son back in and the more I tried, I begin to see the Organization was a cult. Been out now for about 3 years and the elders came to see one time about 2 years ago. I haven't heard from them since.
