I remember one time at an assembly these two "brothers" were actually arguing over thier seats. I thought they were going to go to blows. Isn't it funny how during the regular meeting nobody wants to set in the front rows, but boy at an assembly everyone wants to have that "showy means of display" by being in the front rows to be seen by all? Cheers

Russell and Matt. 24:14
by Haereticus inin his book ?the plan of the ages?
russell wrote that the preaching obligation of matt.24:14 was already fulfilled by his time (italics original):
there are two texts chiefly relied upon by those who claim that the lord will not come until after the millenium, to which we would here call attention.

After realizing the imposibility in this, the "society" used Mat 10;23 "When they persecute you in one city, flee to another;for truly I say to you,You will by no means complete the circuit of the cities of Isreal until the Son of man arrives". I believe now they think that not everyone will be reached with the "Good news" Cheers

Is the Organizaton slowing down or are we just imagining it?
by JH inevery time i speak to an active jw in my congregation, they don't give me the impression that they are slowing down.
if i say that i see less jw's on the street knocking on doors, they will say that many are working full time.
they will also probably say that the hall is always full of people.. i don't go to the hall anymore, so i can't say if the hall is full or not, but i notice that there are way less jw's going door to door than before in this area.

Personally, I think it is slowing down in the "english speaking territory" However an elder awhile back on a "shepherding call" said that he sees alot of "hungry ones" from the spanish speaking people. Whats up with that?

There is NO annual service report in the Janaury 1st WT
by truthseeker inwell, i have confirmed rumors that have gone around about there being no annual service report for the january 1st, 2005 issue.. .
it seems, for reasons unknown, that the watchtower has ended another decades long tradition.
in the second study article for the january 1st, 2005 watchtower, entitled, "trained to give a thorough witness," paragraph 24 reads: .

If there is an increase its probably as one elder mentioned " the people coming into the U.S. from Mexico are really hungry for the "truth". He has noticed how since he's been going to the spanish speaking congregation, he's really experienced the "brotherly love" that he has been missing in the english meetings. Hmmmm, I wonder why?

How did you feel when you learned it was all a lie?
by what_Truth? inbit of background.
i grew up as a jw i left the church when i was 14 because a ministerial servant who was conducting a one on one baptism study with me said that i couldn't ballance my dreams of being a professional singer with the so called "truth".
i stopped the study and told my mom i no longer wanted to be a witness.

Like you I am happy that my children will not be put through the feelings of guilt: Im not doing enough to be considered "righteous". Setting in boring meetings hearing the same stuff over and over and over. Watching children of elders, pioneers get certain privledges because they had alot of hours of "service" that they probably did'nt deserve, when I was struggling to get a few hours but below the "national average". I always had a desire to help in the congregation but could not because I was'nt "zealous enough" Not having to worry about making men happy.Beginning to learn that God loves me for my faith in him and not in an imperfect organization. Feeling more accepted by God every day Im away.

I get those kind of spams often at my work. I figured I got so many different ones and they sounded too good to be true that they probably are. Theres a lot of identity theft going on these days . Be careful. jt

Thanks talley/judy. I have been thinking of reading this material. I have listened to some audio from the ex-bethelites. Very interesting. I am really moved by what these individuals have to say I guess because I have put them "up on a pedestal" so to speak. They are ones who have worked so hard to get there and to listen to them explain thier experiences is quite shocking to me in my early stages of de-programing.
