diane abbott has often given me moments of amusement throughout the years.. whenever i'm feeling depressed, 30 mins of watching her varied gaffes on youtube usually cheers me up.. the following is a clip from this week (feb 2008) in which she seems to wonder out loud whether mao did more good than harm.
it's great to hear michael portillo's initial reaction ("whaaat!
") and then watch him and andrew neil belly-laugh at diane abbott's comments at the end of the clip.. perhaps she'd been at the blue nun xd.

while true, the chart below showing numbers of victims for jw was the lowest of all persecuted groups.
even lower than spanish republicans.. im guessing there have been more victims due to the wt blood policy.
Very interesting the quote is from 1966. They wouldn't repeat a comment like that after 1967, following Normal Finkelstein's analysis of Holocaust historiography,

babylon the great is all false religious organizations and she is destroyed by those she seeks to control.
"Fall" and "destruction" are two separate events. Babylon the Great "fell" shortly after 1914 when it was exposed as not supporting God's Kingdom. Since then the "sea" of support for false religion has "dried up". And it will be "destroyed" in the future when the United Nations turns on the world empire of false religion and bans them. Does no one pay attention to the teaching these days?

i've had enough of speaking in generalities during my time as a jw evangelizer.
while my own experience will offer up mere anecdotal examples at best, my contemporaries and i have found that kids today lack the earnestness and drive we older folks have had since youth: setting up a lemonade stand; doing yard work without power assist; mopping floors; running errands for a dime; cleaning parking lots, etc.

hi all, anybody any anecdotal or actual idea of how attendance numbers went this year ?.
there are hints that it is well down, but is it ?
and if it is, will the borg stop crowing about the attendance as they always have ?.
Ot was the lowest I’ve seen, about 80 or so. But they add phone links to attendance these days. I don’t know when they started doing that.
