  FREE HEALTH CARE

  littlerockguy's recent post about paying for his medical care in the usa got me thinking about something i've pondered over for a while before realising you lot here probably have the answer.

  because of all the treatments i've been having it has made me mightily glad i live in the uk and the bill is paid for by the national health service.

  therefore, any medical treatment i receive is free.

  Three MONTHS for an MRI?

  Dang. I had one done about 2 months ago. The radiology lab actually apologized for asking me to wait 3 HOURS from the time my doctor wrote the script.

  Where are you on the map? New Maps

  ok there are so many americans on the map now i had to split you all in half.. valis was kind enough to let me place the maps on his website until i found a new home for them.. photobucket seems to be a good option - at least for now.

  so i have uploaded the new maps which have been updated to include everyone who has asked.. so if you were wondering where we are from.

  or how close you are to other jwd posters in your area just take a look.

  well, we were going about our business today as we usually do on a monday.

  mrs kwin went to work, kids went to school, i stayed home and made apple sauce and beer.

  2:30 comes along and it's time to pick up everyone and, oh yeah ... we have that appointment today.

  What do you want?

  I haven't read the responses to that question but here's what I'd want:

  An apology. A SINCERE apology for inflicting INTENTIONAL harm on you and your innocent children. A sincere 'separate' apology to EACH of you. I'd want a meeting with her and her manager and myself. Then I'd want her resignation (or a firing).

  But Oooo A sincere apology to your face in front of her employer and your counsellor. Priceless!!

  Perhaps add in a few extra psych sessions at no charge as well.

  Shunning doesn't make sense to me if all you do is ask a question thats needs and answer.

  I've actually always felt this way. Doesn't the scripture admonish them to treat the 'DF'd' people just as ones of the nations. I bet she wouldn't have her job if she treated all patients the way she treated you. They are going against scripture every time they shun someone since they go out of their way to address most 'people of the nations'.

  ARRGGHHH!! I hate this crap.

  I had a few disfellowshipped and dis-associated people as patients in my offices. I wasn't as gregarious with them - and I think it was uncomfortable for all of us - but I made every attempt to treat everyone with civility. I'd even give the DFd/DAd parents updates - just like I did for the non-jw parents!! (Cool, huh??)

  I'm embarrassed about all this now, but I stretched things as far as I thought I could without offending the Holy Governing Body.

  I had to laugh ... who gets shunned by the Walmart greeter???!!!; What a Rodney Dangerfield moment.

  Alleymom - LOL I was thinking the same thing!! ('cept I was not so clever to connect Rodney Dangerfield.

  Who else but a JW would be shunned by BOTH a Walmart Greeter AND the greeter at the psychology clinic. LOL Too Funny! - In a really, really sad way.

  Sorry you family has to keep dealing with this stuff.

  It's almost as bad that the counselor wasn't there. What's up with that?? Nearly worse than shunning...!! Didn't even bother to make it to the meeting with you in the first place and no decency to phone you.

  LOL I think I'd be tempted to ask for a free session or two for contributing to the effects of emotional distress and isolationism. Or take my business to another counselor and report that office.

  CRIMINY!! Poor girl...!! LOL (but not funny. not all. I think nervous laughter)

  sometimes i just don't know when to keep my big mouth shut.

  today i think finally said enough to get da'd.. for those of you just tuning in, a recap: about 2-3 years i came to realize everything i had been taught as a jw was a load of steaming turds.

  since then i have managed to fade away more or less, without incident.

  My Scan Results

  as many of you will know, yesterday i received my scan results from the haematologist.

  when i entered his office he was beaming and so i thought the news would be good.

  the chemotherapy has shrunk the cancerous lymph nodes in my stomach substantially!!

  I don't think I ever stated it here, but the UN thing rocked me at my core. I think that it was the single greatest eye-opener for me and contributed to my finally breaking out of a decades-long depression.

  For that alone, I will be grateful to Zev. Thank you for exposing the extreme hyprocisy.

  Like the others here, I wish you well in all you do and hope you will pop in once in a while - if only to say 'hi'.

  i'm sick and tired and i just can't take it anymore.

  i think i can "be all i can be" by joining the world and thinking about da pretty soon.

  slow fade may not really work for me.

  Many on this site have done it. Some abruptly. Some after many years of fading. Some with a quick two sentence letter. Others with details explanation sent to congregation members timed to be received 2days before the elders get the official letter.

  My personal favorite is LittleToe's. It may not work for you, but it's a good read.

  This question does not apply to me, but I know you get plenty of responses. It's an important question.

  There are many posters here (obviously) who have personal experience. Two off the top of my head are: Ithinkisee and panicattack. You might want to start looking back at some of their threads.
