  I need your guys thoughts & opinions

  have you ever met someone and for some unknown reason this person just rubs you the wrong way ,i don't know if it's a vibe they give off or what but something that makes you dislike about that person.

  my son who is 21 started to date this girl and there is something about her i so much dislike and i can't help the way i feel.

  i have 4 grown kids all have dated and brought there dates home and i was receptive to them all but i cannot to this girl.

  Perhaps you have a friend who could spend a little time at your home the next time she/they are there?

  Perhaps your daughter or girlfriend of one of your son's could maybe watch the two of you interact??

  My sister didn't like a guy I was dating. She talked to me about it very frankly. Her concern was whether or not I was serious about him or not. If not, then she would just pretty much ignore him/put up with him until I moved on. If I really was serious about him, then she said she would put forth energy to get to know him better and find a way to get along in case he would eventually be joining our family.

  I dumped him shortly after that. But the conversation was interesting. It encouraged me to move on. I don't know what would have happened if I really was serious. Crazy to think how that would have played out.

  Nice to have join our discussion board! I think there is one more (human) member of your family, too. (a younger sister????)

  This is a fun place. Most of the people here are very nice and some are really, really funny.

  Most of the threads are pretty grown-up and serious but there are some that are just good 'friend' stuff. I think yours is one of those. Thanks for starting it!

  I remember reading that you have a bunch of pets at your house. I have two cats. Their names are Scout and Sylvester. They are brothers. Scout is blind and Sylvester thinks he is a dog. They usually sleep at the bottom of my bed and keep my feet warm when it's cold.

  I used to have a dog but she got sick and I had to put her to sleep. It was real sad and sometimes I still miss her. There is a picture of her playing with the kids and that makes me smile. We have happy memories.

  Please post some more. I look forward to hearing from you again soon!!

  Tough day -- my mom died today

  poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.

  the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.

  last weekend she actually looked a little better.

  does your life have a purpose or are you just existing?

  over the years i've learned to extract the good out of bad situations and it has given me a different perspective on life.

  I think that subconsciously (ummm actually consciously too) we were taught to exist now and start our 'real' lives in the new system.

  In my mind, that has been a serious issue for me. I have to really pay attention and recognize opportunities for living. Mostly I just exist. Do my duties. Work odd, long hours, go home, read JWD, go to bed and start work again.

  I'm getting better but this is probably the biggest change I have to make. Doctrinally, family, etc I am comortable with where I am. But still just existing - I think more out of habit than anything else.

  Why are JW illustrations so bad?

  are all jw illustrations done by the same person?

  i have always been somewhat surprised at the quality of them - i have seen children's books with more compelling and moving pictures (the enormous turnip brings tears to my eyes) - i know i'm being critical but its almost bedtime and i can't help it hehe.

  hi all!!!!

  i've been apart of all your stories......been lurking here since 03. you all have helped me in many ways .....i feel like i'm stepping out of the little puddle and am looking at a big ocean....so it is sink or swim for my life back.....and by reading here i feel like i am safe.....though a bit scarey!

  i must be an old fart, but i gotta' a real problem with opc's or other peoples children.

  you know the kind you see in the supermarket runnin around like a buncha' wild indians, (no offense to any indians), but could you just smack dem' lil' suckers, or what?

  then, there's the one in the record department of the borders books, he's justa' flippin thru the cd's while listening to ludacris or some foolishness on the headphone listening station, be-boppin his head and just makin' a mess of all the cd's that happen to be in ma' peoples section.

  I spent 13 years working in a pediatric dental office.
  

  I spoke up quite often to those little angels.

  The 8 year old who peed on the toilet seat. (I was going in as he was coming out). 'Get back in there. Clean it up. Noone wants to sit in your pee.'

  The charming one who kept kicking the door because his brother was on the other side. ("I don't go to your house and try to break your things. Stop trying to break mine.")

  The kid who kept messing with stuff on my desk and interrupting my conversation with his mother. (I regret this one. I took my pen and whacked his hand. Told him 'that's enough'. Mother looked helpless and said nothing. I still can't believe I did that. REALLY can't believe she said nothing to me.)

  And if toys (airplanes and such) were flying around, there was a warning: 'If it lands on my desk, it's mine.'

  All in all we had great kids in the practice. Some just needed a little 'corrective advise'.

  From pediatrics, I went to prosthodontics (mostly people over 55). Some days I really missed the kids... They could have taught some of the adults how to behave...!

  i have managed to meet up with 3 ex w in houston tx and through the grapevine have heard there are at least 150 active in houston area .... any way you know of to start bringing those together.

  is there a message or post board that is primarily geographical in nature?
