Don't worry about the fact that you were spiritually immature up until this point since you didn't figure that out on your own, you could hardly be expected to come across any new light before the FDS does - you spiritually mature lot, you. After all, if you had started telling people last year that they shouldn't celebrate their Anniversary you could have been disfellowshipped for running ahead."

  Leolaia: One should consider the aspects of an event and decide what is fitting.

  From the second paragraph of the article you posted. Isn't it amazing that they say "One" should decide what is fitting and then proceed to eliminate the possibility of anyone who is a "mature christian" deciding differently than they do? Wouldn't that mean anyone who celebrates birthdays is an immature Christian? And this, despite the fact that our ability to heed the sentence I just quoted is the true mark of maturity according to the Bible. Heeding the fence around the Law of Christ is a sign of immaturity, and they look at those who do so as "people of the earth."

  Apparently they think they are the only ONE who should consider and decide. Clergy - meet laity. Surprising. Not!

  ok...we have been stocking up our liquor bar....and i saw this whisky: macnaughton for super cheap.....................(it says it is a canadian whiskey...but don't believe it........i know canadian whiskey's...this doesn't qualify).

  This thred is about prevention and not about what should of been done since the best time to find evidence is when the crime accurs.

  While an extremely poor example of proper english, this point is correct. What is the best way to prevent abuse? Never mind answering, it was a rhetorical question. I'll answer it. Your answer probably has to do with restricting potential victims.

  The best way is to create an environment where the potential abuser is almost certain of exposure and prosecution. Abuse, especially sexual abuse, is about control - not sex. As long as having been abused is considered shameful and something to be quiet about, abusers will have plenty of easy targets. As long as abusers' acts - when reported to trusted counselors - go unpunished they will have more motivation to commit those acts again.

  Prevention involves creating an environment in which the potential victim has more power than the potential abuser. Then the thrill from control is gone. You cannot shield children from badness and empower them to be angry - instead of ashamed - from suffering abuse.

  i think that pretty much says it all.we can all whine and groan about how the society has wronged us and how they are so self preserving and wrong , evil, false, controling decieving, self righteous,and whatever.those who speak of giving up or god is dead or now i smoke pot and god loves me or now i commit fornication and its okay or those that get drunk and say thats okay.man some of you sound like the apostate definition according to the society.the evil slave.in order not to allign yourself with satan your job i think is simple.stop doing wrong.

  quit trying to have sex outside of marriage,smoking pot,lieing cheating and stealing.i dont care who you are you dont want to die.

  ive tried it twice and am glad im still here.im no wuss either former power lifter very veril and have 4 children.some of you kill me with your live for today mentality.i have a hard time believing that you chose to leave rather than being disfellowshipped and just feel bitter.

  ko, it takes time to get used to the fact that 99% of the world disagrees with what you have been taught. If you are willing to give yourself that time, you will eventually figure out what your own free will is there for.

  Big Tex: There is no connection whatsoever between homosexualtiy and pedophilia.

  Hmm. Well, to whatever degree two demographic groups overlap there could be argued to be a connection, but I get your meaning clearly. It is a statistically substantiated fact that homosexuals are half as likely to be pedophiles as heterosexuals.

  If I may be so bold, BroBennet, the slave has also warned against thinking you are so strong you can endure the wicked wiles of sites like this. Yet here you are.

  Let us suppose that someone does what you have done, let us suppose that someone ignores the counsel in the Awake! Let us further suppose that an abused child, such as I and my sister were, is brave (and I mean BRAVE) enough to report the abuse. Now, isn't it possible that an elder who ignores the instructions to avoid such Web sites might also ignore instructions about how to handle an abuse case?
