  Un-scriptural & Non-biblical JW terms

  after a recent 'spiritual' discussion with a relative, it hit me that so much of the jw terminology is not to be found anywhere in the bible or, at best is taken totally out of context.

  yet, it's by these terms & titles that jws approve and condemn each other, the entire world, and worse believe that god even cares!.

  i can just imagine someone at the pearly gates, explaining to peter: 'yeah, but i was a "pioneer!".

  Is e-watchman trying to ape JW.com

  i thought i would troll down to e-watchman and ended up at the greasy spoon 'paradise cafe' link then i was re-directed to e-jehovahs-witnesses.com.

  now that he has at last got his self righteous come-uppance and been booted out of the brownies it looks like he is trying to be an alternative jw.com, but will fail just as his ramblings have failed him.

  garybuss: those who leave the Witnesses and believe everybody should...

  ...[fill in the blank]. I'm right there with you, man. Why did they even bother leaving? It's as though the only reason that kind of Witness left is because they couldn't be the ones to decide everything for everyone.

  Of course, I feel the same about people implying that everyone should "grow up, leave all that childish religious crap, and become an (atheist, agnostic, evolutionist) like I did." Anyone pushing someone else down a path of discovery really gets my Skivvies in a twist.

  Leading and questioning helps other people reason their path out for themselves. Pushing, pulling, or stepping on others betrays a very poor self-image, in my book.

  Recently deleted as elder

  when we last saw our hero he was..... alright, if you've been keeping up with the saga you know that during the week of april 11 i was deleted from the elder body.

  i stepped aside on my own initiative.

  you can read that thread for the non-specific generalities of my situation.. so far noone has said a word to me about it at the hall.

  LittleToe: No more taking the lead, having to be an "example" to the flock.

  No more having to appear as though you are something you are not, or someone you are not. I always wondered how the hell someone was suppose to acquire the mind of Christ when everyone was pushing you to do things in a way that pleased them or in a way they assumed would please others.

  For instance, beards. Honestly, how many Witnesses would be shocked by anyone wearing a beard if the Faithful and Discreet Slave (nom de plume of the Governing Body) did not tell them to be shocked? It is looking out for strict adherence to endless petty rules of a few men that consumes the elder's time so much they couldn't look out for the flock if they wanted to!

  I am so happy for you, TheListener. You are on your way to a better life.

  after clicking on each one of those symbols listed and matching under the (watchtower) name, the reader found u.n. resolutions with a vote of (yes) located beside the words (voting summary) in scans #4 and #6. scan # 4 listed a vote of (yes) u.n. meeting no.

  scan #5. if we had clicked on the 2nd un symbol that was located back on scan # 3, then we would come up with this page, which shows another (yes) vote by (total voting membership) or 015---------see scan # 6 (this scan)------------then scan # 7 will show what was voted on (found by clicking on (full english text) see this scan and last scan # 7----coming after this one.. .

  Gadget: I thought the publications were direct from Jehoba, the words just being put into the mind of the writer for him to write out?

  Silly little mouse! There you go confusing "spirit-inspired" with "spirit-directed." Don't you worry, though. In their day-to-day lives every JW is supposed to act, think, and speak as though the Faithful and Discreet Slave (nom de plume of the Governing Body) is spirit-inspired regardless of their admissions of fallibility.

  It is all based on a "spiritual feeding program" drawn from private interpretation of Scriptures. I know for sure that the interpretations were private because they say publicly that God didn't tell them, that they figured it out. (2 Peter 1:19-2:3) Yep, they pretty much admit that they are false prophets.

  A Few Musings On Personal Growth.

  her ladyship once told me that i reminded her of a loaf of bread that had only risen on one side.

  now, many years later, i understand what she was saying to me.

  i think that when you are brought up with very limited choices, such as experienced by those who are witnesses, your maturation process is severely impeded.

  Due to confidentiality clauses in the agreements signed, the UN cannot release such information. It is typically a very reasonable rule, given that many corporations would prefer for their political leanings to be kept in confidence. In our case, knowing that the WTS evidenced political involvement at all is plenty of knowledge, anyway.

  The UN rule was not designed to hurt anyone, the UN just didn't foresee someone trying to "insinuate themselves into their good graces." (wt 91 6/1 p. 17, par. 10)
