An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...

an elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.

he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.

i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

Well, let's see. I went from being a regular pioneer to fading away for 5 years. NO ELDERS VISIT EVER. Then out of the blue my mom gave them my phone number and they DF'd me because I wouldn't meet with them regarding my having a boyfriend. So, they annouced my being DF'd 5 years ago. STILL NO ELDERS VISIT EVER.

So 10 years, no Memorial invites, no elder's visit. No nothing. I live in a nice middle class neighborhood and I never even see JWs going door to door. I haven't seen a JW in 10 years, seriously.

Hopefully, someone will take charge and disobey the courts ruling, they have no real authority.

actually they DO have real authority. I'm glad they made another good decision.

up until this evening i had thought teresa schiavo was in an unconcious state, lying on a bed with just a machine keeping her alive.

how wrong was i?

i saw her smiling and showing awareness of her surroundings.

If an MRI was done today the MRI would serve as a magnet and pull the metal through her head killing her.

If they do neurosurgery that could kill her too, at what expense, at what cost? and for what purpose?

No more cuddling on the couch while we watched TV. No more laughing at stupid jokes we tell each other. No more mind blowing sex. No more "I love yous" at odd times during the day.

There are lots of signs, before it went that far though it would be prevented with communication.

The Best Response To Memorial Invites?

they will not give up!!

i live a ways away from my old congregation and i work with a couple of active witnesses who know i'm inactive.

so, i've been bombarded with phone calls and asked by my co-workers to go to the memorial.

Thank you doesn't imply you are or are not going. No one feels offended at Thank you. Leave it at that. Walk away. Change the subject. Just don't say yes or not, it's none of their business.

there is a petition to sign on the site to save terri.

I challenge anyone to go volunteer in a nursing home for 2 weeks and then come back here and tell me your thoughts about the right to live and the right to die.

My good friend worked at one and told me all about it. I have worked in our local hospital as a student for a while. Although I didn't deal with terminal patients I understand what being locked up in a hospital can be like.

I think everyone should try volunteering to at least see what the REALITY of being in a nursing home is. Myself included. It's all fine and great to talk about it like an armchair quarterback, but let's get in there and volunteer. Maybe some of us will have a change of heart, maybe some of us will make a difference, maybe for some of us we will finally understand a world that we're not personally a part of.

The court appointed Doctors to examine her. I am sure they did a thorough job. They reported their findings. The courts reviewed EVERYTHING and came up to a legal decision in support of her husband.

If every court and every judge sided with her husband, he MUST HAVE A CASE. The parents DON'T.

These are Terry's wishes and her parents are trying to force and impose their own thoughts and feelings on their daughter. My mother would love to force me to be a JW, but thankfully I can make my own decisions. Parents don't always let their children make their own choices, clearly in this case the parents are voicing THEIR opinions, not those of their daughter.

Help! Is The Memorial Tonight??

you'd think i'd know, but is the memorial tonight?

my son (he's 12) usually goes with my jw mom on the weekend, but she asked to get him today since he's out of school on easter break.

grr, i am thinking now she's doing this for the memorial.

Why not say that you have been invited to a friend's house for dinner and you will drop him off at her house around 9pm. That way you are playing her game on your terms.

If her body was capable of swallowing food and drinking water, then I think you could call this starvation. Truth is, her body shut down years ago with heart failure.

The invasion of her body with tubes, and the surgery to insert a feeding mechanism into her is what keeps her alive.

I have a great friend who is a nurse. She told me what conditions these people's bodies are in, they are chronically constipated, in fact impacted with feces. They can't do anything, they can't turn over, they can't drink anything, they can't speak. Think about your body in a bed for 15 years, her muscles don't work, they are only reflexes. Personally I think laying in a bed for 15 years is INHUMANE. Peacefully slipping into a coma and allowing to rest is the only HUMANE way to treat someone so obviously broken.

I would be mortified if anyone treated me like her parents have, made a public spectacle out of her. That is not what life is.

" i?ve had that nagging me then i have another voice, i?m not nuts-i?m not hearing voices-just a metaphor, tell me "they can?t be right.

" i just have this incredible inner conflict in me.

I think I felt that for like 5 mins, then realized they AREN'T RIGHT AT ALL.

Case in point, I was taught from the time I could speak that Armeggedon would come before I hit adulthood. They taught 1914 + 70 or maybe 80 years = Armeggedon.

Well, they were absolutely wrong. 1984 came and went, 1994 came and went. It's 2005, they are wrong. No questions about it.

It takes a while to shed those feelings though. I completely understand.
