Isn't that the orange book that talks about "higher criticism" over and over again? I remember I had no clue what higher criticism was when studying that book. Boy, they sure are afraid of people looking at the facts, aren't they?

Well, we got through the week and no one came by. I had asked my husband to let me get the door if they did come by so I could work my charms on them and let them be on their way but he refused. He said he would handle it his way (which scares me).
I'll keep ya'll posted if they come back at all.

My husband is still in.
I don't want to call them or go to any meeting.
I'm going to play dumb like I always do. I'm usually at work but if they happen to come by this weekend, I'll say the following:
"Ohhhhh, the Christmas tree? Actually, I didn't give it much thought. It's been so long since I've been to a meeting I thought nothing of it when my daughters and their friends decorated ... I only went to the meetings a few years out of my entire life. Thanks for your concern though.
Oh, you want me to take it down? I can't. I have a medical condition and can't do any type of labor... Plus, I can't handle any kind of stress and my kids would cause stress over this. Unlike us, Christmas means a great deal to them, being

It already was two witnesses: The circuit overseer and the presiding overseer.
The PO left his number for us to call him. Should we call him?
I wont go to any meeting. so be it. But I would call him and drop the info into a conversation.

Hubby is fading. He's interested in keeping relations with his mom (as little contact as he has). If I blame him, he'll blame me.
I am going to blame it on my adult daughter and her friend who rents a room from us. They are not JWs, after all. And we have two other daughters who are 16. They all got together and did up the house for Christmas.
This is IF we get a call or invitation to a "little meeting."
Or we may just not go...

WONDERFUL! My husband decides not to decorate the house since my stupid sister asked the CO of her congregation to call on us and he's been coming by on a casual basis.
Well the CO is in town so my husband says, "I'm not doing the house. Only the inside." My son keeps saying, "Daddy! Let's decorate our house with lights." Poor thing. Such a sacrifice to not get disfellowshipped.
Low and behold, we're both at work today. My 18 year old daughter who looks 25 is at home getting ready for work and leaves the front door open so she can hear her cousin when she honks the horn to pick her up.
The doorbell rings. She goes to the door. The PO looks shocked because he's never seen this woman before. He asks if we still live there. My dumb daughter says "Yes. They're my parents."
They saw the Christmas tree AND the manger scene.
Now what! I'm sure they came for the purpose to find out if we were celebrating Christmas. Do you think it would fly if we said we share the house with family and they put up the Christmas stuff?

I was just asking about this last week. My sister volunteered with her husband and drove all the way from Idaho to New Orleans. She bragged about it endlessly and my dad, a staunch Catholic, even glowed when he talked about it to the rest of the family. I wish I had this info last week during that discussion. I'll bring it up at Christmas for sures though!
