  Double Mastectomy and a punctured vein???

  a close friend of ours who is a jw recently found out she had to have a double mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes due to cancer.

  she and her husband do not have medical insurance because he was laid off a few years ago from his union job.

  he started his own business but work has been slow.... anyway, having a pre-existing condition, the only insurance he could get her was through kaiser.

  Just talked to her husband who said when she woke up and felt her breasts still there she looked all confused but couldn't speak. She is not even aware of what she has gone through. They cut her open in her back to find and take care of the vein they ruptured. She has no clue.

  Exactly!!

  I was thinking about how I have had a Gall bladder removed, appendix ruptured, cysts removed 3 times, 3 C-sections and a hysterectomy and I NEVER worried about an incompetent surgeon UNTIL NOW!

  I hope my surgery days are over. My poor friend is laying there having her first surgery F'd up!

  I just don't see how this even happens. I mean they do have laparoscopes ya know? How come they didn't see where they were cutting through video before actually cutting?

  Thanks, Jeff. Yeah, I'm sure the conversation has been "interpreted" several times. But I'm still worried. Just checked and found out she is still in ICU and intibated but coming in and out.

  I'm really sick about this whole thing. To think those power hungry morons were there to give their support pressure. She has a little girl, who is only 6 years old!!!

  That's what her husband told my husband.... that they said they were concerned with the "no blood" demands and accidently punctured a vein. Her lungs filled up with blood also. She lost a lot of blood.

  I'm glad your sister survived the ordeal. Kaiser Kills!

  A close friend of ours who is a JW recently found out she had to have a double mastectomy and removal of lymph nodes due to cancer. She and her husband do not have medical insurance because he was laid off a few years ago from his union job. He started his own business but work has been slow...

  Anyway, having a pre-existing condition, the only insurance he could get her was through Kaiser. They got the insurance and she was scheduled to have surgery today.

  Well, apparently, they signed the DPA and the Liaison Committee members were there, hours after she went into surgery the doctor came out and told the husband that they had not removed the breasts because they were so unfamiliar and nervous about doing the surgery and the "no blood" condition that they accidently punctured a vein and they spent hours trying to figure out what vein it was and her lungs are now full of blood...

  Granted, I got this second hand from my hubby who is not great at getting all the details. So I am worried sick and I don't really know what is going on. They said they would have to reschedule the double mastectomy for Thursday.

  Right now she is in ICU. She is intibated. She is sedated. She is surrounded by JW's. She refused blood and I don't know how much she lost during this accident.

  And I don't know enough about the double mastectomy surgery. What I'm looking up on line is not telling me much.

  I don't know why I'm posting this. I guess out of frustration and sadness about what is going on.

  Look who is frothing! Someone told a joke which was lame.

  Others came on giving kudos saying how "accurate" and "true" the joke was to real life.

  I gave countless examples of how the joke was not "accurate" and "true".

  You came on and supported what I said and NOT what the joke said by your own true life example.

  Now the same ones who said the joke was "accurate" and "true" are actually coming on saying how they would do the EXACT opposite of what the joke said they would do.

  And now you say I'm "frothing" just because you know I proved my point and you helped me out.

  It has nothing to do with addict, alcoholic or whatever. The joke was a lie and everyone on here who came and said it was "accurate" and "true" is a liar. Period. Because I can take bets that none of those people would EVER give $20 to a homeless person and probably not even $1 buck, either! And I am 100% SURE (as I'm sure you are) that NO REPUBLICAN BUSINESS OWNER would tell the homeless person to go to his business for a job. That is laughable!

  So, fine it was a lame joke. But then the people such as yourself who came on and said it was a true to life joke are liars.

  Yeah, they brought us the weekend but for all those hard-won battles, we have people who are willing to work for free on those weekends. It's like Women's suffrage and then women don't vote.

  I know someone who works for a corporate giant whose bottom line, a lot of businesses could only dream about. Top earners in the company make a TON of money.

  This person I know works as a middle manager so he is an "exempt" employee. They laid off everyone who was under him. EVERY SINGLE PERSON in his department except this person! So now his work load quadrupled. Obviously, the demand for the product is still there since the workload didn't disappear. He is technically no longer a "manager" and "exempt" because who the hell does he manage? So he should be getting overtime pay. But he's not.

  He's working seven days a week now, ten hour days, slaving away for his boss, worried that his ass is next in line. SAD!

  But when his wife mentioned that they were worried that their son is going to be 18 and drop off of their insurance because he's not going to be a full time college student, I told her, "Well now he doesn't necessarily have to drop off because of the new health insurance law." She was thrilled to hear the news. Until her hubby chimed in, "THAT'S GOING TO BE REALLY TOUGH ON BUSINESSES!" BAD BAD BAD!

  What the F???? This man's business could MORE than afford to pay insurance! And that's what he is worried about? That his boss is going to have to pay for it???? His boss who has time to spend with his family and go golfing while his employee spends NO time with their family, let alone have recreation time????

  People are freaking brainwashed!

  You missed my point. The reason you are not "heard" is because the people you are talking to are hypocrites. Out of one side of their mouths they want "smaller government" but out of the other side they are happy taking all that benefits them from the same overgrown government.

  Take all the Republican politicians who take subsidies and whose spouses collect unemployment or the ones who are so happy taking stimulus money to their districts while at the same time saying the stimulus didn't work! Pathetic.
