  Does Watchtower Society monitor this board?

  i've seen it mentioned many times in many threads: "the society monitors jwd, don't post anything you don't want them to know etc.

  i have even made that point myself in the past.. my question is this: does the wtbts monitor this discussion board?.

  or have we all been propagating our own xjw urban myth?.

  Someone passed my wife a tape from the U.S., you know how these things are passed around.

  It was dealing with the then recent J W victory in a court case in Russia, allowing the work to continue there.

  An interesting comment by the senior American speaker was regarding the arguments put forward by their adversaries. He said that the points they made "Could have been taken off of any apostate website"

  So surely they do monitor the net to be able to make that comment. And this is the best place to get an overview of what is going on.

  The scriptures clearly show that Jehovah forbids certain conduct among hiscleanpeople................................................. Causing Divisions and promoting sects. This would be a deliberate action disrupting the unity of the congregation or undermining the confidence of the brothers in Jehovah's arrangement.

  It goes on to say on page 96 "Your aim should be to help the person, we want to help individuals stay within Jehovahs spiritual paradise."

  I recognised this immediatetely.

  Now and again the WTS would re print this cartoon,which they had published in the 1930's in the Golden Age (Awake) and it always gave us a laugh...It seemed funny at the time, it is just pathetic now.

  The Revelation Climax Book is discussing Rev.9 ; 4 -9.and applying to themselves the prophesy of locusts going forth to sting "Christendom".

  John Chapter 3. How does it jive with JWs?

  can anyone answer a serious question?

  since jws set so much store by bible study etc., i was wondering how they explain away john chapter 3. specifically where jesus tells nicodemus you have to be born again by the spirit of god in order to enter the kingdom of heaven.

  while i'm here i would also like to know about eph 2:5,6. it seems to me they work like trojans in order to attain a place in paradise- but this verse clearly states we are saved by god's grace and not our works.

  Dungbeetle is right when he says that J Ws draw distinction between the two classes.
  In John 3.3 the phrase is "Born again to see the kingdom of God".NWT.
  The belief is that only the 144000, see the kingdom and thus need to be born again . The rest of the plebs get salvation on Earth.

  The expession "Born again " may be applied to the living remnant of the 144000, although not in the same sense as many from charismatic churches understand it to be.

  Jubilee Celebrations Forbidden To Witness Kids.

  today, tuesday, is the fourth day of celebrating queen elizabeth 2nds golden jubilee in the uk.

  whether youre a royalist or not doesnt really matter, the queen is, especially to the english, a part of our heritage.

  its history being made in glorious technicolour.. so, theres lots of celebrating been goin on over the last 4 days.

  Hey, there is very little you can do as a matter of conscience, watching the telly is about it. If your kid was seen waving a Union Jack or singing "God Save The Queen", (standard procedure at any local event), then you would be in for some very heavy counselling ,at least.

  After all she is head of the Church of England, Princess of Bab the Great, Satan's chief henchmen etc etc!!

  Incidentally the rock concert was pretty good ,except for that tosser Cliff Richard., and E/MAN, I like the three lions symbol.

  i just got a call from my mother.

  in approximately 1951, jane left the family...just walked out.

  i brought up the possibility that perhaps her sisters were hurt that age 16 she walked out on them; just like their mother.

  " I cannot imagine that a JW elder or MS would give a talk about him. He never accepted the truth. His mother became an evil slave. He potentially molested all 4 daughters"

  I have been to funerals for family members of witesses . I once conducted my fathers funeral and he never believed it.
  The talk is of a general nature and does not specifically promise a resurrection for him.
  The elders do not know what you do.

  Do not feel guilty if you stay at home. Take care, and our fellow feeling at a difficult time

  i'm a brand newbie to your forum.

  i'm a "non believing" husband (12 years) of a returning witness.

  i'm a devout "cat lick" and my wife is returning to the kh after 12 years.

  Hello J G , welcome.
  My fellow feeling is with you since my wife too is still a devout Witness and it causes a lot of stress at home

  It is true that you have family headship and if your wife asks the elders they will have to agree that you have the right to prevent your children attending meetings .Of course you cannot prevent her confiding her beliefs to them and quietly teaching "The truth"

  The danger is that a heavy approach will have you seen as the family tyrant,fulfilling the expectation of "Persecution for righteosness sake"

  Do what you feel you have to do where your children are concerned. With your wife ,try and stay calm , just get her to think. Ask her why the beliefs are there , and there is so much info on the net that you can ask her things that she has never considered. Perhaps show where the books make mis quotes?

  That what I try ,but it is hard to remain objective and avoid rows. Good luck , keep in touch.

  this is a little long, but i think you will find it interesting!!!.

  the book "organized to accomplish our ministry" (1989) written by the watchtower society has this to say about matthew 18:15-17 starting on page 142:.

  "when giving counsel, jesus outlined some specific procedures for resolving problems of serious wrongdoing, such as fraud or slander, that may arise between fellow christians......... .

  Dedaisy is right in one thing. The average dub knows or cares lot less about such things than the users of this board. Ostrich mentality?

  Regarding Mathew 18, without quoting directly, my understanding is that the two "Witnesses " are to witness to the discussion with the accused - not the action itself.

  Suppose a business or trade contract is disputed. During such a conversation things would be said which may clarify the matter one way or the other. The witnesses would then confirm what was said, no going back on it.

  I am afraid it is a different circumstance.

  anyway.... one of them has a question and we need the input of a boffin like alan f, or jt.. elderly lady, just got df,after 40 years of service, wants to know, now shes df, will the org still take her money that shes bequeathed to them in her will.?.

  does she need to change her will to prevent the org from gettings its clammy claws on her bucks.?.

  Locks on Bethel Doors: True?

  i recall that it's been mentioned in passing here on a few threads that there are locks on the bethel rooms.

  this to me is significant, since when i was there in the sixties, there were none, and this wasa source of considerable pride in some circles.. can someone confirm, please?.

  during my day, they caught one bethel thief, a guy whose dad was a prominent circuit overseer who served in nyc at the time.
