I can see a problem for a ,say 17 yr old being forced medication against their will . Nobody wants to live in a state where the doctor can thrust it on you , whatever you say. Of course it is different for a younger child. How old is this girl ? We do not know.
It does seem to be a paper exercise. . The parents have to say No., The doc gets a court order.... ok then.
Times change. I can remember stories as a boy , when children were smuggled out of hospital - transported to another facility where the surgeon was more sympathetic. ..... Of course in the cases we heard about the child recovered ok

those in charge were far more colourful than they are today. We( at home) were only reminiscing today about some of the really smart, funny , intelligent people that we knew and were proud to call friends.
