since i've never lived in time with dire events, this virus and it's effects, has taken me by surprise.
not that i should be surprised by how people responded, but until you experience it first hand, you just don't get the scope of it all.. all the hoarding.
i've always taken things in a more rational way.
Around here , U K, everything except essentials are shut down. People are told firmly to stay at home. Therefore traffic is light, busses are empty. You must queue outside a supermarket 2 metres apart , some items are still short.
For me, there is not a lot of change, I was at home anyway. I just miss the freedom to go downtown for a coffee.

not sure if this was covered as i could not find anything on it but talking to my son he tells me one of the gb had a talk telling them this is a sign of the last days.
have the jw's being pressured into talking to relatives and friends to bring them back into the fold before the end of the system blah blah blah?
the reason why i ask is my son was saying his mother has being on his case the last few weeks and then two days ago i got a telephone message from my sister, that hasn't spoke to me in 4 years, asking how i am doing.
How are they supposed to seek us out? Government rules are that we shouldn't not visit or receive visitors.
Nobody has reached out to me in all the years I have lived here, they know where I am.

i regularly read fox news, the drudge report the new york post and local newspapers and local newscasts.
where do you get most of your news from?.
Over here I turn to ghe BBC first, sometimes Sky and I like to see some of the foreign news available on t v .
Such as Al Jazeera, France 24 or Euronews. On the net I check google news and Apple News, but I am careful as to their sources. An article is only ss good as the paper that printed it.
No one news source can be relied on to give a totally unbiased, even coverage of everything you need to know , so I keep an eye on multimedia news sources

heard of her fathers passing this morning.both her parents and siblings have shunned her for over 22 years.. about 1 week ago her mother notified her by e-mail that her father had cancer and was not expected to live much longer.of course they had known for a long time that he had terminal cancer.. last week my d.i.l.
did ring her father and spoke with him.. the only other time they contacted my d.i.l.
I can never get the shunning of people who have not actually been d/f'd . The Witnesses I know ard reluctant to shun and only do so if they are given no option by their faith. Even then, " necessary family business" should over ride that rule.
Her mother must be a real hard-ass super dub!
why i ask this is because the night before the memorial we had a phone call from a longtime friend who obviously is still indoctrinated ,to encourage us to log onto jw.org and view the proceedings ?.
she made a big deal about how this has never happened before and that even non jw`s could watch it .. she was going to ring us up on the night to help us log in if we had any problems or whatever .. this friend is a bit eccentric to say the least and speaks against the elders at times ,sometimes i even wondered whether she was df or not ?
so this ph.call surprised me somewhat ,and the wife`s attitude is she`s happy just let her be and don`t rock the boat ,she is about our age so just let her be ,we have had a lot of history with her and she still talks to us despite what the religion says.. but when the memorial was about to start no phone call and we haven`t heard from her since ?
Yes , each congregation meeting has its own unique Zoom log in code . I presume this the same for all Zoom users so discussions are private , as they can be on he net.
The talk on the website was intended as failsafe if anybody could not Zoom. Yesterday it was accessible from the home page, no log in required. I have not looked today

Great ! It seems except that plasma is one of the big four blood fractions that are forbidden to.JW’s
Is this going to cause problems for them if the treatment is universally accepted?
Of course if a way is found to just administer a “serum” containing the antibodies, all well and good... subject to their conscience.
