i know of a lovely old sister who has been a jw for several decades now who openly expresses doubts about jw interpretations.. she does it in such a lovely way and everyone loves her.
she is such a sweet old soul, makes everyone happy around her.. she has said things like- even if we have got it wrong about this and that i still believe the bible is gods word”.
she answers up regularly and she goes on ministry groups but like most of us she is definitely jwlite, we don’t really do door to door work anymore.
It depends who you are and how you say it. A “dear old sister” they have known for years is pretty safe but anyone newer who comes over argumentive may be slapped down.
If you are smart today, there is so much that they admit they don’t know, that it should be possible to question what they may change next..

as the clouds of war are gathering fast over the european continent many countries including britain are contemplating a return to conscription and some form of mandatory military service.
considering the fact that the watchtower fought long and hard especially in europe for the right of its believers to abstain from military service it is very interesting to see how this new development will affect the watchtower across europe.
I did read something in the news where a British military bod was saying than in his view the army was too small and would need additional conscription in a time of war . However such a thing is a political hot potato. If such a programme was introduced the political backlash would be enormous and politicians are too afraid of being voted out .
It is all speculation by military types anyway.
some time back i questioned about jw making money from doing relief work for disasters.
i found this story on reddit and also noted some of the replies.
it makes me wonder how many would have left their own jobs and paid their way, giving free labor and some supplying free materials if they had know what was going on behind the scenes.
I have no experience of disaster relief and I only know what has been said on this forum. What is claimed sounds like a clear insurance fraud, to me .
a key principle of insurance is indemnity.The purpose of the indemnity principle is to set back the insured at the same financial position as he was before the loss occurred- no gain no loss.
If my roof is storm damaged and the “ Brothers “ repair it for free , I have suffered no loss. I cannot claim on insurance. If the householder makes a claim based on commercial rates ... it is fraudulent.

I have seen the phrase jump the shark used when the programme becomes absurd. Actually the latest changes make it easier to follow, I.e . No hour requirement, just tick the box to say I did something. Now they are saying “ We don’t really know “ about future events… that’s ok , you can believe what you like…..
it is still unfollowable but being less dogmatic must be better.

As MikeJW said.. In the latest video the goatee has disappeared. This was dated 19th Jan and he discusses the text for that day , so I guess it is up to date . I do not doubt the original pictures that we saw but perhaps he changed his mind … or maybe his wife didn’t like it ?
i got the internet in my house and realised it's all lies....but as a pioneer/ministerial servant i chose to fade.
see i had family and friends who were fully strict witnesses.
so i played the poor lost soul brother who is not sure what's happening.
I am a fader , much like Witness 007. I get what Jan says and she is right, one is never free of it . But this means that I have kept my wife , my home and my extended family.
As our later years are now upon us my wife and I need each other more than ever. Despite our religious differences our relationship is better than it has ever been and I am very glad that I did it this way .

Is it a lifesaving work ? No because we know Jehovah will spare them if their heart is right .
Am I saving myself ? Maybe though because I know the ‘ truth’ and if I fail to preach it then I am refusing Jehovah… So in that case , it is better not to know and not be obliged to live a life of service… So I am doing them a favour by not telling them ?

a relative sent me yesterday's wt study article 46, how jehovah guarantees his promise of paradise.. it's been a long time since i read one of those articles but what really struck me about this one is that, considering it's discussing a fundamental jw belief, it only mentions jesus twice as an aside, and not at all as the central figure like the bible does.
it actually mentions satan far more in the same article!.
i don't remember this discrepancy from my time in the org 15 years ago.
I have made similar observations in the past although there are times when they focus on Jesus .. A District Convention theme a few years back was all about Jesus. There is the big project underway to video the whole life and Ministry of Jesus. The recent Broadcast made the point that Jesus is the final judge of mankind “ and the resurrection is by him….
So they do recognise him , but of course as subordinate to Jehovah. I still think they could do more to constantly keep him before their flock.

That is utter B/s... In my experience the elders talk about it freely among themselves, if not the r&f . Then of course it is written and the Branch Office informed for their record. It is nothing like Catholic confession.
