Not at all RB. It just amazes me that people who loudly proclaim the facts are behind them can so easily produce insulting garbage like that post, think it amusing, and deny that they are acting in the very same way they claim their opponents are! And yet, I see it all the time in your discussions with creationists. You folks never take the high road. You folks always include insulting comments about our intelligence, etc. in your answers to us. You are almost always condescending toward us as your comment to me demonstrates. In short, evolutionists on this board act even worse than the creationists you potraid. And yet, you don't see it! If that isn't at least as blind and fanatical as you claim we are, then I must be in Wonderland!
I've always tried to be respectful to the evolutionists on this board. But almost every time I've tried to have a civilised discussion, I've had my education and intelligence questioned, my motives impuned, and been called names. I have never posted the kind of tripe about you folks that I see so gleefully posted by you high-minded and tolerant evolutionists about creationists! And, although I don't doubt a few fanatics among my fellow creationists might've tried a few times, I've never seen a another creationist do it either. The post that this thread was started with is a prime example of narrow mindedness, intolerance, and worse. If that is a prime example of how the materialist world view benefits you, then I want no part of it! Where I might have been a bit more open to that kind of thinking when I started on this forum, you materialists have sure closed my mind to that avenue with that kind of bigotry!

I speak a little of both. After reading the letter, though, I dont' see where much can be done for that situation. All I would say to do is to leave it be and not cut the strings. Don't put his new beliefs down since that will definately drive him away. Firmly stick to their own belief system. And be there for him when he wakes up and sees the organization for what it really is. It may take months. It may take decades. Unless somebody who knows him well and has his trust can come up with some way to help him, that is the way I see it based on what little we have to go on.

Nice quote from Russell Frayd! For all the criticism I see of CTR, I do have to give the man some credit on this issue. What many folks don't realise because of WBTS revisionism is that Russell didn't care for a monolithic organization such as the WTBTS is. In his days, the congregations were alot more independent. As the quote provided us shows, Russell didn't countenance Star Chambers judging the flock. I think he would very much disapprove of what the Governing Body is doing today.

Yet another friend getting married...

all my other friends have married off, or getting married off, which makes me the sole bachelor from the whole group.

By the way, I can't argue Mysterious' point! If you are considering fading, then you don't want to get invovled with a Dub girl. So just be patient anyway and at least wait until you've committed yourself one way or the other in that matter. If you do fade, then move away from the area before you take up with an outsider. An ddon't leave a forwording address for your old congregation. That will make things a whole lot easier.

Don't get too depressed over it Doubter. I was the last in my group to marry. At 18, everybody but me got married. For seven years I was a social leper. The younger ones didn't want me in their group. My former "friends" wives did want me around the group because I had no wife for them to hen around with. But when I finally married, she was worth the wait!
When it is God's will, the right one will turn up. In my case, she was a recent divorcee who had some friends who loved her well enough to go looking for somebody for her. We were introduced, and 24 years later, I couldn't be happier! Just be patient man, you'll get what you want.

i feel like there's this heavy boulder around my shoulders and it's just pulling me downdowndown...i think it started last night when i tried to play my guitar...but i'm no good at it...you know that feeling where you know how and what you want to be...but you can't b/c you just suck at it...i want to be an accomplished musician singer...but i can't sing and i don't have an ear for music.
i feel like i have no talents...i can't sing, can't play music, can't draw.

I took up guitar a few years back. I suck at it!!! But hey, I keep at it! It is one of MY little pleasures and I'll get better. I'll never become a virtuoso, but thats not the point. It relaxes me. THAT IS THE POINT!
Sorry about the job demotion. It happens somoetimes. You might want to discretely find out why it happened. If it was something you did, find out what and learn from it. If it was something someone else did, then be advised that you have to take steps to watch your back in the future. Go out and get a copy of Sun Tsu's "The Art of WAR" and memorize it. If you learn it well and understand it, that should keep you from being blindsided again if you lost a battle to somebody els eyou weren't aware you were in competition with. Pay special attention to the chapter on spies, you'll find it a lifesaver in the future. Anyway, learn fro the experience and then don't let it get you down!
The dogpooh may stink now, but it will come off later. You have that to look forward to!
