So instead of going to the meeting....i have been studying this post, mustve nearly taken two hours to read and digest. Do you think that they will discuss the finer aspects and implcations with the R & F? I would think that if there is hidden adgenda [and there would be] it will be discussed in detail at the afore-mentioned 2005 Elders School. Once that has been conducted [any ideas on the date?] it will then be look out, Bro. Officious will take it as a mandate and run with it...then watch out, anyone that they didn't like, or who has been a pain in the butt will get it first. This has been a great thread, you can only hope that the spirit directed leagal department is reading it as it develops!!

If you purposefully take a blood transfusion, it's the same as joining the army, or taking up boxing, you purposefully go against the rules and are to be viewed as someone who has DAed themselves...
Yes you can be DFed for apostacy, the elders book in unit 5a which has the list of crimes, definitely states apostacy as a DFing matter. Ask any elder to show you it in his book!! ;-))

What did you do during school assemblies?
by Qcmbr inin my school the two jw kids sat out of assemblies and i always wondered what they got up during that time.
i always wanted to have the courage to say i had religious objections to assemblies but to be honest i just hated siting cross legged on the wooden floor for ages.
anyone experience sitting out assemblies (or whatever your school equivelant is) and what did you do?

Every monday morning, up to the headmasters office to speel out some psudoe oath of allegience to respect the queen, teachers and the law. But we also got to monitor the headmasters phone and other important stuff....that was during the 60's

Many elders had big heads after these article came out...prince and a star....waht about all the princesses and starlets, didnt they soar too? The Rev Climax book had an explanation, but the WT atricles took it further, at least the climax book said they were substitutes for the "annointed", but that wt made them all stars too...

Awake! as a monthly, so the donation thing mustn't be working, the funds drying up, who's gunna pay for all the worldwide expansion? The "blessings" are coming in thick and fast. One sister reckons that with the changes to the Awake! that things must be happening, we have to focus on spiritual, something big must be about to happen. The R and F dont see anything but good.
As far as "the big announcement" is concerned for March, my own brother who is now an elder wont even say what it is. I asked him if it was a new organization book and he says maybe......Grrrrrrrrrrrrr

An Elder in our cong gets gout whenever the Circuit Overseer turns up. He hobble around the territory for about half an hour and the pain he is in forces him to have to give up and go home.....poor brother_________!
He hobbles around the hall, and looks miserible. Under such sufferance, he keeps going, what a faithful brother. I bet he is straight into the newey, no questions asked!!!!

Catholic's confession vs Judicial Committe
by JustTickledPink ini remember being indoctrinated how "bad" the catholics were and in particular the confession practise was always ridiculed.. i was thinking about it today, if i felt guilty about something how wonderful it would be to open a confessional booth, talk to a priest, confess, he would say some words to me, tell me what to do as penace and on my way i would go.
i think their thought is that the judging is really left up to god (i hope i have that right) and then i thought about the jc committee.
you walk in, they grill you, you confess, they judge you (not god) and then df you if they think it's warranted.. starting to think that the catholics had it right after all.

David, you seem to be waylaying this thread. If you have been judged by a JC, did you ever come away feeling like your sins are forgiven? Most do not, and everytime their "sin" is mentioned in a talk or WT study they feel the pangs of guilt because they really do not know whether they are forgiven or NOT! JW's can not bag the catholics over pedophile preeists at all. They have no right, they are NOT clean from the stain of "that" sin. Ask around, you will find that even those who are on this forum would confirm there is no overwhelming feeling that you have been forgiven, you will not know until judgement day...IMO
