  Are Faders "better" than DF'd or DA'd?

  this is something i've been mulling over.

  just would like to hear opinions as to whether faders, or inactive ones think they are superior to disfellowshipped or disassociated ones?

  what is your experience with this?

  If you are asking from an JW perspective - (from what I've seen) - a fader/inactive person is better than a da'd/df'd person, based on the treatment toward them by other witnesses. A fader/inactive one is weak - as for a DA person - the shunning treatment experienced is the same - complete and total however, that being said, the witnesses that I know admittedly believe that the DA'd person is more vile than the DF'd person.

  I'ts all a lot of crap no matter how you cut it. If a person cannot leave an organization for any reason and remain on good and reasonable terms with friends/family and even the leadership, then the organization is quite obviously a dictatorship run strictly on policy and legalities. It is not a fellowship. It is not a loving nor a kind relationship. It is both repressive and oppressive. It is an abusive connection whereby the WTS retains all the power - controlling by fear, exhaustion, guilt and isolation. swife.

  Trade Centers/Pentagon

  i was wonderin' how you guys see the conspiracy of the trade center demolition and the attack on the pentagon?

  it has been well established now some years later that there must have been detonation devices lining the elevator shafts of the three trade towers that collapsed.

  after 1 and 2 fell, no one really ever questioned the way that 3rd one fell in the same manner (pancake collapse style, as a controlled demolition goes).

  Link up to all the video's that skyking and others have provided - they are enlightening. Then make up your own mind. There is enough information on them IMO to fill a book with questions - and yet questions that have been asked haven't been answered fully. We were told that it was terrorists that piloted the planes and we were quickly given the names of all of them - but later, some of them were found to be alive and not involved at all. If Bin Laden et al really used Al Queda to do this and wanted all the glory, then why was there no martyr video, complete with the names of the attackers, put out on the air? Why did people in the towers report an explosion in the basement of the building before it was even hit? Why were the administration advised not to fly the day before the attack? A lot of questions which haven't been answered...conspiracy? Who knows. Cover up. It seems so - the question remains though what and why? swife.

  A friend of mine is a dentist - he's 61 and he avoids having work done on his teeth at all costs. He has one dentist friend who he will let do emergency work on him but other than that - you won't find him in a chair! I take that as a hint of all that can go wrong - sammieswife.

  What will Pres. G. Bush do now?

  after watching his impromptu press conference yesterday on abc i am convinced that clown wants a war with either n. korea or iran.

  what do you folks think?

  Thanks jayhawk. The last document that I read on that was written abt 2001 and they were still quoting the higher figures - which doesn't change the fact that Bush lied to everyone in order to start the war then and secure his share of the oil. I think what rankles more than anything is the arrogance any government has in lying to it's people and fully believing, regardless of the cost physically and financially to the people, that they have the right to do so without accountability. Again thanks...sammieswife.

  The elder Bush (according to reports) lied to the Saudi's outright so that he could justify an attack on Iraq in 1990. He told the Saudi's that the US had satellite imagery that showed Iraqi troops piling up along the Saudi border and of course as was later found out, this was a lie as the satellite imagery for that time, shows no such movement. What it did though was scare the Saudi's enough so that they agreed that Bush could send in his troops - he told them it would be 100,000 but he had already planned to send 250,000. When he attended meetings with heads of state, including the King of Jordan, it was advised that he negotiate a withdrawl instead of using force - Bush's response was that 'no little dictator was going to hold on to 25% of all oil from the civilized world'. It was obvious that the real reason for attacking was indeed oil, despite having told the American people that they were attacking because of democracy, liberation, jobs, terrorism etc. By the time the attack was over, it cost about 61 billion $$; a couple of hundred American lives and about 500,000 Iraqi dead and wounded. Now Junior has taken on the same game - except it is costing trillions and there are thousands of dead Americans and thousands more Iraqi's as well. sammieswife.

  Ummm... isn't that what we're s'posed to do? Save them? I've got them from two years now... somewhere around here in a file folder.
  
  I'll prolly keep 'em forever, too! Lots of special folks have sent me cards.

  Jim..this might sound kind of sappy - but I've kept most cards that have been given to me (mostly from my big family) for over 30 years. When I bring them out from time to time and read the little messages written by aunts and uncles, sisters, brothers, parents and friends - it brings back fond memories and warm fuzzy feelings. It's all good...sammieswife.

  Doesn't matter to me one way or another. I've been around guns for most of my life - however - I've also felt more threatened in some situations by just knowing some people have those guns in their house during volatile moments. Some interesting figures - men commit more violent crimes than women and use guns in those crimes more frequently and my understanding is that women are more likely to be assaulted or murdered by someone they know rather than by a stranger. swife

  Crank - hated, hated, hated it!

  Ice Princess - a nice, pg 13 - a non thinking movie.

  Kingdom of Heaven - directors cut - 2nd time and this version is far superior to the first.

  Wedding Crashers - 3rd time - I love that movie!

  RV - average/okay..some cute scenes

  Devil Wears Prada - really enjoyed this one

  The Shopgirl - with Steve Martin - a quirky kind of film but actually kind of delightful.
