I would take the dog if it meant that much to me - with the promise of sending her pics if it's amicable. My ex had my dog put down the minute I wasn't looking - she was diabetic and blind and I was trying to work something out that would work. Because of her blindness, it was safer for her to remain in the home where she was more familiar with everything. I went out of town for a week and he got mad - I will never forgive him for that - ever, ever, ever, ever. It haunts me to this day. sammieswife.

In addition to my above post, I forgot to mention about JWs who violate a confidentiality on the job and divulge personal information which causes their employer to be sued.
That would be my number one worry as an employer. A JW swears only allegiance to the WTS and that gives them an excuse to treat anyone in anyway they want to. Confidentiality is like a leaf blowing in the wind to them - keep it when you want and divest yourself of it just as quickly when it suits your purpose. sammieswife.

This needs to be forwarded to the local congregation where the family live, headquarters in Brooklyn and perhaps every newspaper that runs 'fraud and scam' sections in their local. The issue wasn't about the family being so poor they needed food - it appears to be an article on asking for help to provide holiday gifts and cheer for their kids. This is scamming - either the Society and it's beliefs or else the community of which they wish to have no part of. It certainly points out hypocrisy - blatantly - we don't celebrate Christmas, but, could you give me some gifts for my kids? Puleeze. sammieswife.

Burning Incense might be a Sin
by sammielee24 inthe wt website now has an article on burning incense.
yes - pretty soon i'm sure they'll be telling you how to trim your toenails.
i'm surprised that they still allow dancing at weddings actually, since we know that dancing was so paganistic and led to wild, animalistic sex.

Today they have gotten hold of my last nerve. If it weren't so utterly childish and pathetic, I'd go and glue some incense sticks in the form of the cross to the KH door. Maybe stick a Christmas card on there while I was at it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...................sammieswife.

We were in San Francisco a lot of years ago. Some Japanese tourists were there taking pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge and we chatted for a few moments. They commented on how pleased we must have been when it was rebuilt. Our question - what do you mean rebuilt? You know, after the war, when it was destroyed, bombed - the lady said. After telling her that it wasn't bombed and destroyed during the war, she looked unbelieving and nodded. Well, that is what we learn in our history, she said - that we were successful in attacking San Francisco and destroying the bridge. sammieswife.

As they always say - keep on the watch - to make sure your 'friend' doesn't spot you buying that package of incense at the dollar store.
<<<<Does the fact that incense is used in religious ceremonies and in spiritism mean that all incense-burning is wrong? Not necessarily. Perhaps a person wishes to burn incense as a fragrance in his home simply to enjoy its pleasant aroma. ( Proverbs 27:9 ) Even so, in decidingwhether to burn incense, a Christian should consider certain factors. Would others in the area where you live associate the use of incense with a false religious practice? In your community, is incense often associated with spiritistic rituals? Or is it commonly used for nonreligious purposes?
If an individual chooses to burn incense, his decision should take into consideration both his own conscience and the feelings of others. ( 1 Corinthians 10:29 )

Wedding rings and Christmas Trees
by sammielee24 inthe witnesses make a great to-do about christmas and all the trimmings, but for many, christmas has no religious meaning and instead is used to solidify family bonds by visiting one another, sharing time with friends, they use it as a time for sharing their own good fortune by volunteering time or donating money and sometimes to vacation.
many enjoy the tradition and celebration and fellowship without religion entering the picture.
knowing this, and the watchtower admits it in their website -.

Many enjoy the tradition and celebration and fellowship without religion entering the picture. Knowing this, and the Watchtower admits it in their website -
"Has the modern-day celebration of Christmas lost sight of Christ? Officially, December 25 has been observed since the fourth century C.E., when the Roman Catholic Church designated that day for religious observance of Jesus' birth. But according to a recent poll taken in the United States, only 33 percent of those polled felt that the birth of Christ is the most important aspect of Christmas.
What do you think? Do you at times feel that in all the insistent advertising, the harried buying of presents, the decorating of trees, the organizing and attending of parties, the sending of cards—Jesus has somehow been left out of the picture?"
Now - if the WTS acknowledges that 67% don't believe in religion as THE most important aspect of Christmas - then why the big deal? Of course they will follow that by answering of course that the tree and celebration is rooted in paganism. But wait! According to my understanding of the wedding ring exchange, that is also a pagan custom. Witnesses still exchange wedding rings and even go so far as to celebrate their anniversary.

Supplement letter to Witchtower Babble study next Sunday 17th
by hamsterbait inat the end of today's witchtower, the elder taking it said that next weeks meeting was about appreciating and showing respect for the meetings, and that a letter with "guidelines" - no don't laugh - from the society about this would be read out.. is this why this week was all about being obedient drones and not questioning anything (except for the question "what does the wtbts currently teach on this for me to parrot robotically while maintaining a rictus smile of fake joy?").
anybody see this letter yet?.

No..don't know anything..haven't seen the letter but in a fit of boredom I can easily draw a south park cartoon in my head..on one side the elder standing with a mallet in his hand bopping kenny on the head and screaming 'you can't question me'..and kenny bouncing back and screaming 'oh yes I can, I'm imperfect - I'm exercising my free will'..............sorry....I have been meaning to tell you though, that I love your avatar. I have fond memories of my little hamster from so many years ago.................................sammieswife.

Regrets for becoming a JW
by sinis inwell, i have been thinking lately how f@cked the jw have left me, in a sense, though i was raised in the "truth".
first off, my grandfather was df'd when i was 12, will never forget as it was the first night i gave a talk on the school.
he was df'd for chewing tabacco.

I understand perfectly including the grandfather part. We lived close to my grandfather so I have many memories of him when I was young, but as I got older and more and more CULTivated (raised in the truth), it was a no brainer for me to refuse to attend his funeral when he died. I felt it was what Jehovah expected of me - he was a non JW and his funeral was in a church. My stance was of course applauded by the zealous thereby hiking my superiority level by degree. The arrogance of that thinking makes me sick now. The loss of that relationship as a direct result of being a JW makes me angry. You only get one shot at a lot of things in life and like most that were raised in the 'truth', I was left with nothing - not even a good understanding of myself.
