I heard a lot of witness people talking about the 'urgency' in recent Watchtower articles.. a lot of these guys really believe the Governing Body are messengers from God, I'm sure of it.

KM in 1974 praising people for selling all their stuff and pioneering?
by ithinkisee insomeone on this site mentioned they got a km off ebay that praised those that sold all their belongings and preached.. does anyone know which km that was?.
interesting, when going through the society's cd-rom i noticed that the drama for the district convention in 1975 was about noah's ark and was something along the lines of "there's still time left!
" (i'm paraphrasing).. -dm

What is the next flash of New Light?
by Pole ini personally feel they will have to "adjust" the fds doctrine.
the tricky thing is that the fds (whoever they are) won't approve this change while they're still alive.
they don't care, they subconsciously feel it's their end anyway and they won't undermine their doctrinal position having lost all corporate power.. so who will send this beam of new light?

:Getting rid of 1914 or the FDS or anything else will be achieved with little difficulty.
How?? Date setting was the foundation of the witnesses.. its the whole reason there was a sense of urgency, fear is the fire that fuels the preaching work and meeting attendence. That 1914 date still looms in their heads.. its like the last 'proof' that they have to hang onto. They might talk less and less about it (as they are doing with 1914) but 'getting rid' of it, I just can't see HOW they could do that man. -

Are you still "hurt" from your JW experience?
by JH in.
i was just wondering if you still feel hurt or some kind of interior pain from your jw days or is it all passed and you have no more feelings towards this organization.... i still feel "hurt" and let down... .
afterall, they were friends, and now they just don't care anymore.

Ahhh. Thats sad. I know I'm obviously hurt and frustrated with all my old dub friends. But it IS their lives and we just have to move on. I just try to make new friends. It takes time.

:the very fact that jw at present can not see the link between the FDS and the religion itself
I don't see how you can make this assumption. They would all have to be mentally retarded not to see THAT connection. The generation doctrine was a huge change but NOTHING compared with getting rid of the faithful slave, 1914 teachings. That's like changing from Catholic to Protestant. -

I can't get to grips with being shunned

Hey dude. I know how it feels, its tough. You just have to move on.. like has been stated before they aren't really true friends if they can't accept you for what you believe. Also they are under so many rules and stuff that their heads are spinning, I just kinda feel sorry for them because they are forced to be so clueless.

Never ending JWism.....AAAgh!
by Gill indid you , when you were a 'proper' jw, or even a jw of any description, believe that after armageddon you wouldn't have to go to the meetings and out on field service anymore?
surely, after armageddon the control and work from jehovah would get even greater and the nightmare of being a jw would truly never end.. do you get my drift or have i had too much merlot?.
i ask this because my father told me that 'they' needed all these new khs for when the dead are resurrected and they have to look after them and study with them.
-
GetBusyLiving
As if having to teach these newly resurrected ones for another thousand years were not bad enough, we have to go through the second round of watching God kill ANOTHER huge group of people that became you're friends because they JUST DON'T GET IT. JW paradise sounds like hell.

:More people die by accepting blood thatn by refucing it,that is a fact.
This is some funny shit. That sort of twisted 'logic' is pulled straight from a Watchtower. With facts like this, who needs bullshit? -

: BUT if those young ones decide to (after the old ones died shortly) do away with the FDS, 1914
You gotta think this thing through man. They can't do away with 1914.. no way, no how. Everything in that religion is based on that date. How would they be able to claim to be God's channel? What about the two tier salvation theory? When would the 'composite sign' of the 'last days' begin? Not even the Watchtower could pull off getting rid of that doctrine. They are just gonna demonize dissenters more and more, the smart ones will see through the bullshit, and the rest will die confused and hoping.
LOL now I'm a prophet! -

JW young people...on the move...to where?
by Gill inmy experience as a jw teenager was total repression and control from my parents and i know that the majority of my friends at that age in the congregations suffered the same.. now...what's happening?!.
i come home and find a regular full time pioneer smooching with my non jw son on the sofa.. i"m reliably told that jw youngsters are in the local pub after each meeting and have to be thrown out at chuck out time.. they seem to behave in a far worse way that some non bible believing youngsters that i know.. are they finally feeling their feet and the wtbts due a huge exodus in the next few years?.
i'm slightly embarrassed at the behaviour of some of these youngsters when i'm told what they've been seen getting up to.. or am i just getting old?
