This 'moral decline' stuff is a myth. Take a look throughout history and see how well people have treated each other. You might be very surprised. There is more going on now but only because there are so many more people. And there are many more people because things have gotten much better.

Shunning in the 60's

as you know i just returned from visiting my great-aunt whom i hadn't seen in 40 years (she's still a jw).

i asked her if she shunned my mother when she was disfellowshipped in 1964. she said they society did not promote shunning at this time.

is this true?

I find myself wondering why in the hell he would be placing us here in this misery in the first place. This Jesus stuff can just make a person bitter or completely delusional. If there is a God he is nothing like us whatsoever, because in my mind there is NO excuse as to why humans have had to go through the shit they have on this Earth.

They don't hurt people as much as the JW's but their belife's are just as whacked out. They don't let people die from cohersing them to not take a blood transfusion.
