on a transatlantic flight, a plane passed through a severe storm.
the turbulence was awful, and things went from bad to worse when one wing was struck by lightning.
one woman in particular lost it.

i try to keep up with discussion on this forum, but i missed the threads about the new policy on the announcement of disfellowshipping and disassociation.
so excuse me if i am covering old ground.
the new "organized to do jehovah's will" book stated that in future announcements of disfellowshipping and disassociation would follow the same formulation: "****** ****** is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".
Yeah for sure, welcome Charisma! Nice to read your posts.
I know, I think the new policy is the biggest attempt to further mystify the shunning arrangement and give dubs the illusion that 'all is well in our little spiritual paradise', and that whoever became '.. no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses' is a fornicating - drug injecting - brain-dead heathen.
BTW, I liked your idea Slim. Very Littletoe.

i certainly have had my share of jw stupidity for the day ... and of my family's stupidity today.
two things happened ... both completely unrelated.
as a little background, i "faded" from the witnesses almost five years ago.
A lot of witnesses feel that people who fade are just as 'bad' as disfellowshipped ones, and think that faders are as good as disassociated. I think its all baloney but its how they rationalize that stupid policy to themselves sometimes.

if you follow his website, read his latest essay, to the elders, if he keeps going at this rate, he will be posting here soon.

i dropped out years ago because i couldn't stand getting together with sisters i didn't like to do a talk.
i hated it with a passion!!
i do realize that you did learn but what i resented was that the sisters were inflicted on each other in a way that i don't think the brothers were.
I used to like the ministry school and commenting. The older I got and the more I had to surpress doubts the more it became psychologically nauseating to publically express anything positive about witness doctrine. I just got to a point where I simply could not do it. I felt like a huge phony sitting in the Kingdom Hall, let alone actively participating in the meetings.

kansas is holding a debate to decide.
http://www.cnn.com/2005/education/05/02/life.evolution.reut/index.html.
topeka, kansas (reuters) -- evolution is going on trial in kansas.. eighty years after a famed courtroom battle in tennessee pitted religious beliefs about the origins of life against the theories of british scientist charles darwin, kansas is holding its own hearings on what school children should be taught about how life on earth began.. the kansas board of education has scheduled six days of courtroom-style hearings to begin thursday in topeka.
:Actually from my point of view God is the one who framed the natural laws so even though an individual tornado is merely the obedience to those laws doesn't mean he can't control them when He wants to
Wonder why he didn't 'want to' jump in and stop the recent tidal wave in Indonesia. Or maybe he wanted to but just decided against it because of some hidden agenda of his. Then again, maybe he just doesn't care. We may just not really understand God and he could be working in mysterious ways.. yeah.
Or maybe he doesn't exist.

i have just started listening to a cd from the robbins group, ... it is an interview with leo buscaglia.. he made this statement, "that love with strings is not love.
" it really drove home a reminder of my association with jw's.
if you don't do what we tell you we will not love you.. then he said, ... humans blame love.
I totally agree with this. If the 'love' you show is conditional, it ain't love.
Having said that though the way to keep love strong is to show it in return. It's common sense.

i was watching a great sci-fi movie the other day (chronicles of riddick) and there was a phrase in the movie that jumped out at me.
a soldier was being promoted and he said the phrase "obedience without question, loyalty till underverse comes".
i thought "wow, just replace underverse with armageddon and that sound just like the witnesses".
I watched 'The Shawshank Redemption' for like the thousanth time last night, the parallels are so great. I see the evil warden as the Watchtower Society and the prison as the Org. The feel of the movie is very satisfying for this ex-jw.
I'm also a 'Donnie Darko' fan as well. That is some healing, depressing (?) stuff. Requires a few viewings for maximum effect.
"Get busy living, or get busy dying.. you're godd*mn right."

to me, the 1000 years that jws promise after armageddon is a really dumb doctrine.
basically, everyone who cacked before armageddon is going to be resurrected, and everyone on earth is going to grow perfect during these 1000 years.
then, bastard jehovah is going to let satan loose for "a little while" to basically clean out any evil that is on the earth.. so, what's the point of paradise erf?
:maybe Satan will be bound because only good people will be left who acknowlefge Jesus as Lord
Or maybe Satan, Jesus and Jehovah are only make believe. As crazy as that sounds.
