  (i made a thread like this but it seemed to have gotten lost).

  i got in some heated discussions years ago over what i would and would not tolerate from people with regard to abuse on a personal level.

  we were always fed the line that we should forgive our brother, etc.

  :A witness fruitcake tied his mother's dog to a truck bumper and dragged it to death in front of the whole neighborhood because it bit him and probably for good reason, and NOT ONE THING was ever done about.

  I'd like to tie that shitbag to a bumper and drag him around town. I'm gonna start a thread about witnesses and animal rights.

  isn't "the end" supposed to come when they are all gone?.

  and how can they be leading the faithful and discreet slave if they live in our area?

  This is one of those things that I just shook my head at year after year. All of the crazy bullshit just brings you to a point as a dub where you know they have to be wrong, but you dislike yourself for realizing that. No wonder so many dubs are depressed.

  would you let your child associate with Jehovahs Witnesses?

  i'm the only one of my family who is not in 'the truth', and my family don't want anything to do with me.. however, today my mum asked me if she can take my 2 year old to visit the rest of the family, i'm not invited and wouldn't be welcome at any of their houses, so she would be taking my daughter alone.. i told her i would think about it.. i really don't think it would be practical because my daughter is not familiar with the family and i don't want her to be upset.. but the main reason |'m thinking of saying no is that i feel offended that i am not good enough for them to speak to.. am i being selfish if i say no?

  How many days did you spend in the Hall?

  i just did some rough (haha) figuring to determine how many days i spent just sitting at the hall during meetings.

  i just rounded to the nearest year to be liberal in take into account missed meetings and the like.

  i know the number is higher but i dont feel like getting more exact.. this just counts regular meeting times, not before and after fellowship, not fs, meeting prep, or assemblies.. i came up with 349 days.

  Weight, Health, & Exercise

  having been a yo-yo dieter for decades and being 20-30 pounds overweight now, i have reached some conclusions that follow.

  what do you think (it goes without saying i want opinions or else why start a thread?)?.

  1. recent press statements indicate overweight isn't nearly as harmful to health/longevity as previously thought.. 2. the more i diet, the fatter i get.. 3. having done considerable geneaology, all but one of my ancestresses i've seen photos of (four g-g-mothers) for the past 100 years were considerably overweight (indicating possible genetic predispostion).. 4. not interested in finding a "mate.".

  Witnesses and alcoholism

  my jw husband has made me promise to let him die rather than approve a blood transfusion because of bible doctrine; however, the same bible speaks against alcoholism and drunkeness and yet he continues to drink and sometimes gets absolutely smashed.. last night we were at a non-jw staff party for my place of employment, and he lost any shred of dignity through his heavy drinking.

  we got home at 3 a.m. and he jumped out of bed at 8:20 and said, "i have to get to book study; i'm reading today.

  (it behooves me how he can do this time and again without even taking so much as an asparin!).

  :So for anyone who used to drink to excess while a JW have you changed your habits since leaving?

  I have. Most of my friends now only drink when there is something actually going on. Back in the day, drinking was the only thing that was going on.

  it is interesting to read the comments of so many who are no longer "in the truth".

  i have not associated for 18 years but as my parents are still very much "in the truth".

  i never disassociated myself as i feel to do so is to acknowledge some form of official status over me.
