  i received an email dated 01-11-007 from a brother at bethel here it is.

  ######### i heard this first hand, this morning that the faithful and discreet slave said that matthew 24: 14 has been fulfilled.

  it was announced at the special day assembly at houston tx.

  One thing I know for sure, those that heard this talk, especially the rather weak minded and excitable, are in something of a frenzy over it. Someone asked where it was given. It was at the Denton, Texas Assembly Hall, maybe two weeks ago.

  during his visit, what exactly does the circuit overseer discuss with the body of elders with regards to inactive publishers?.

  are inactive publishers even on the agenda?

  or is this of no concern to the co and pretty much left to the discretion of the local boe?.

  sir82 has it exactly right, word for word. I do know of one COs wife that always solicited a list of those that had become inactive and then made it her personal business to go around and harangue them about becoming active again. She especially seemed to enjoy contacting them at work, she was something else.

  i posted something similar to this in another thread, but i decided that this is an important subject, and something that a lot of people don't realize, so i expanded it into its own post.

  and we can always use a review now and then, so that lurkers, active witnesses, and newly ex-witnesses can catch up.

  according to the watchtower society, one of the best examples of god's holy spirit operating on the organization is the building program.

  Deleted the story is absolutely true. You can drive by the old Kingdom Hall in Bonham, Texas and see it. The only thing wrong with the story as you told it is that there was a whole lot really vicious back and forth conflict before the issue was resolved in favor of the local congregation. The kingpin in the whole dealing was the local presiding overseer whom many in the Congregation worked for and he just decided he wanted to be the real boss one day. From the looks of the old Hall they haven't faired all that well.
