I stay the hell away, as far away as I can. It's crazy. I think it's because of the commercialization of Christmas just makes me not give a crap about it. Most of my family live in other states than I do and the ones here are all JW's so I usually spend it alone anyways. When I do need to buy though I do buy online. It's just way less stress and you don't have to be around a bunch of idiots.

by hambeak infor me i found myself more involved politically and in community and business affairs.
not as cynical as i once was and not as judgemental as when i was a jw.
also more empathetic about people and finally able to see some beauty in the world.

Adulterers are Worse than Pedophiles
by gumby in....at least according to jehovahs witnesses.. if a sister at the kingdom hall suspect her hubby is playing naughty with another woman and she finds her hubbys car has been parked at anothers womans house all night, then she can write a letter stating she is sure that adultry has taken pace and divorce him, and he is then disfellowshipped, and she still remains in good standing..............but,.
if a child tells their parents and the brothers at the kingdom hall that they were molested sexually by a brother at the hall, and this accused brother denies this accusation and there is no other witnesses to this claim, then he is veiwed as not guilty and remains in good standing.. why do you suppose the accused adulterer is treated differently.....even if he denies that he commited adultry?.

YEAH ! And I will say this. If you are a witness they have the two witness rule but if you are a person of the world you are instantly guilty no matter who said what . So what makes them think that any other person in the world is any different . Are not all people Gods children ? Even if the watch tower was right (and I know they ain't) who is to say that if all people were Gods children then all people could become a witness ? Right ? Just who are they to judge anyone for anything ? Don't they believe that Jehovah is the judger and him alone ? And if you ask any witness if they respect it's laws and follw them they will say of course ! Well if a person knows that someone is a molestor, raper, adulterer and then they do not report to the authorities then where is the respect for the law that they claim to abide by. Is it not illegal to know a crime has been commited and not report it ?
These people make no sense to me. It makes me very sad for all those who are victims even adultery. I've been cheated on , I know how it feels. It sucks big time. This religion is what Bush would call a flip flopper (LOL)

Disfellowshiping dead people
by free2beme ini was in the witnesses in my twenties and one time i was over at a house of a woman who needed some help.
we were cleaning her house, making her some meals and so on.
all this was to make her life easier, while she dealt with some things in here life.

Do you need God?
by daystar inwhen i first left the witnesses 15 years ago, i still believed in the jw god, jehovah, as the real and only "true" god and that all the others were not real.
they were real in that people worshipped them and as a distraction from "true worship", but to me, they were simply imaginary entities.. no other gods actually existed.
there was jehovah, satan, and the angels and demons.

I don't think God supports any religion per say. I certainly don't believe he micro manages any of them either like some think he does. But the real key here is not religion, religion is something created by man who is imperfect. What I believe God supports is faith in the Christ and that he died for our sins on the cross, not something that is created by a man who has habits of misinterpeting or adding to the scriptures.
