  At what age would you dicuss homosexuality with your children?

  on recent a thread a poster here discussed about having discovered his daughter was gay.

  whilst reading this my 11 year old son was looking over my shoulder, and reading along with me, some of the discussion was quite adult but respectful .

  so i began thinking what age would you discuss these things?

  Today in this age in time we don't have to say anything, It's out in the open in the public. Television and on the streets. Now when the child ask is when you should talk about it I think. I have a tenant who just learned his son was gay and it hit him pretty damn hard. He was not sure how to handle it because he felt that he did not teach him to be that way. I told it being gay is not from the way he was taught or the morals that he was raised on, that it was a decission that the young man took on his own. I told him that he still has to love his son.

  So I think waiting until the child ask otherwise why bring it up ?

  cannabis seed is the most nourishing human food known to science.

  there are good reasons to conclude that the tree of knowledge of good and bad was the male cannabis plant and the tree of life the female cannabis plant, the one which bears the seed.

  over the past few days... someone who i'm no longer associated with has been out on vendetta to discredit me.

  it started with a mass mail to my myspace friends, which caused nothing more than a few eyebrows to be raised.

  that was the reaction of people who know me in real life.

  Hey man I remember when you came on JWD, I always thought that you had good things to say and you gave good insight to what the watchtower really is. I am sure that you have helped many here at JWD and I even learned more by your threads and post. I must have missed something as I do not know what you are talking about and I am not going to go look either because I try not to cast stones at anyone, and God forgive for the times i have.

  But like I wrote on another thread earlier, we run into all kinds of people. Everyone is different but one thing we all have in common is we came out of a cult. I have noticed in the society that there is one thing it's members are very good at and that's casting stones. They are trained to do that from the society. I think that eventually we learn and we grow out of those old ways and turn new leaves as we grow in our new lives.

  So this coming from someone who was the same but now new in life have changed and I am sure that eventually in every ones own time will also change. Let's at least hope so. Your a good person Richie, I know you from your beginnings here as many do and I just recall an old rhyme you know the one ? It says ' sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. ' So don't let others hurt you man just ignore them and pray for them because we all can use a good prayer to overcome the atrocities of the watchtower.

  what has happened to this place??!!.

  i left this board a while back to reorganize and get refocused.

  the vibe of jwd was changing and the forum became "unbalanced" (for lack of a better word).

  I have been a member of this board for 6 years and it has always been a peyton place but like someone said earlier you just got to roll with the flow and enjoy it. Try to find the humor in being able to communicate with people from all over the world who have one thing in common. Coming out of a cult.! Yes it sometimes can be confusing but more so than not it is a very comfortable place to be to discuss issues on many levels.

  after finding this forum and being raised in the jw religion, i found jwd a refreshing place for honest feelings, fears, life experiences etc.. the history of the jw's was exposed, and those who lived any experience under this regime has been told by many members.. to be lied to by any forum member is insulting.

  i have over my past year and 1/2 come to love many posters.

  i realize many more have much longer time put in here.. i have been honest and exposed more of my self than i care to think about, but always kept in mind that others were doing the same and it was best for anyone new.. to lie on this forum to all of these members is horrible and i am questioning why i am so honest here.

  Man you ain't kidding either, I was also apart of some of that too, I came here in 2001 and I was a very bitter man for being lied to and almost tricked into this cult. I bagged out just 2 weeks before baptism. None the less I was pissed because my spirituality is so important to me that to think I had been fooled really made me mad and I would tell anyone anything. Specially when it came to some jerk off know it all that could do nothing but call names.

  Today I look back and I have to laugh at myself and others because those who have been here for a long time have really tuned down a great deal. I think that after time here you learn to humble ourselves a bit. This place is a great tool for reordering your lives away from the society.

  Man things were nasty then, everyone calling each other dickheads etc.........Simon was probably pulling his hair and teeth out over all of us, I am sure he asked himself if this was all worth it. Anyway just my 2 cents. It was great to deja vu ....

  my husband decides not to decorate the house since my stupid sister asked the co of her congregation to call on us and he's been coming by on a casual basis.. well the co is in town so my husband says, "i'm not doing the house.

  Narrow mindedness ? No I hardly think so but that's ok that you want to through immature word punches. Does anyone really want a cult religion in as a leader ? Not any ex cult members I know ! Don't you realize that the laws in the state of Utah go in with the Mormon beliefs because the governor there always seem to be a Mormon ? I was on the road several years ago and was driving through Salt Lake, I stopped at a McDonald's to grab some grub in the drive through. I was asked what ward I was in. I said none, I guess if your a member you got discounts at the crappy macky. So don't tell me that Mitneys Mormonism will not control how the white house is run I know better and so should you.
