For all you New England folks...Ghosts anyone?
by dawg ini love new england... i always used to read nathaniel hawthorne on the front portch of my house in georgia when i was a kid and think that many of his characters were like jw's..... there's a place near the cape, called buzzard's bay, i used to sit there for hours eating "steamers" and drinking beer, and on the cape,what a beautiful place.... i love the southland, and will always live here, but i miss new england... .
the "hawthorne hotel" in salem, mass.
that was like a home to me, i'd walk in the door and they'd always say, "hello mr. huff"... i'd get drunk at the local pub and be out there at the cemetery in the middle of town taking ghost photos at 12am.

Law suits by the Society against websites
by isnrblog inon this site and others i have been reading about the watchtower society suing bloggers and website owners because they quoted the watchtowers publications.
a couple of observations.
if you quote a publication that was publically distributed by the millions of copies, how could you be liable?

Someone In The Know Told Me About The Society's New Plans!
by minimus infrom now on, no dates will be espoused for future prophetic events!.
there will be a in-house elder arrangement that no longer depends upon the watchtower society's influence.. judicial commitees will no longer be in existence.
congregation members will have an active role in keeping the congregation clean while exercising appropriate mercy.. kingdom halls will mostly be sold and assembly halls will transmit circuit meetings by telephone, closed circuit tv, radio frequencies and by telephone every week.

Well I have been a member since 2001 even though it does not say that in my box to the left. I came in originally as KGB but I changed emails and moved across the country and did not know how to change the email in my profile so I just changed name.
Personally I think the board is running just fine, but some members could be doing the change and not the board. Simon does a fantastic job with this site and I think he does not make any money for his efforts either. I give him a big hand .
I think that those members who have personality problems eventually change after being here for awhile, because when I first came here I too had an attitude big time. I had a huge chip on my shoulder at that time and was dealing with some of the worst treatments anyone could endure from JW family members. I was accused of things I never dreamed of doing and it was done so that the JW family could make me look like the bad guy in their congregation in order to protect themselves from DFing actions they could have faced. Let me tell you witnesses will believe another witness before anyone outside of their faith. They act like it is impossible for a witness to lie, boy are they going to face some serious charges when they meet their creator for that. Anyway with everything I was going through then and then dealing with the fact that I was one pissed off dude when I found out that the witnesses were just another cult like the mormons in which I was a baptised member of in the past, I was later excommunicated from at the age of 19.
I'm the kind of guy who will tell it like I see it, sometimes up front, right in your face . I wish everyone here a great experience and hope for all good in all men/women. We are only here for a little while, might as well our stand and make it right here !

Do Most Witnesses know about UN SCANDAL?
by Abandoned init seems to me that most witnesses still don't know about the un scandal.
since it has been such a useful tool in helping people see the truth about the lying duplicity of the watchtower, how can we get this message out to more in the organization?

I do not understand how anyone that have been in the religion for any length of time can swallow that big UN lie.
This is because when it all came out in the open the witnesses were told that it was nothing more than a library card. I asked my mother and she asked her elders and this is whatthey told her. I heard that it is what they told everyone. When I said there was a letter from the UN stating that they lied to the witnesses she did not want to read the letter because she was told she would be reading material from the beast or something to that manner.

Yes we do go back and long time here and I made a post once in regards to someone else here that I had become very close with, when they told me she was scared because someone had found out who they was and where they were. I got my butt chewed from Simon for simply telling everyone to be careful about giving your personal information to anyone online at least till you know who they are.
I totally agree with you here on this issue. I am sure that there are JW spies on here looking to gain brownies or something. Personally I don't really give a rats arse who knows I am here because that is why I am here. To share with to learn from others. I have no fear from the society or any of their members, but then I don't have to worry about fading or being df'd as I told them straight to their faces no to bother me anymore.
Myself I can understand why others would want to remain private as the pain that one endures from shunning is a cruel and unusual punishment, but that did not bother me, I figured I was doing what was the right thing to do in Gods eyes and if I lost friends and family then so be it. My spirituality is the most important thing I have to hold on to, it means more to me than anything or anyone and thats where I stand.

Did/Does God really love people?
by buffalosrfree inat john 3:16 god says he loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believed in him will have everlasting life.
yet in revelation satan and the demons were kicked out of heaven and hurled to the earth.
how is that loving, what could possibly be the reason he would do that if he really loved us.

As parents do we love our children ? Of course we do so why would God not love us ? We are his children. When we are bad do our parents still love us ? Yes but we do not love the action. So in the same way that we love our children God loves his children. When our kids are bad we punish them and in the same when we are bad to God he punishes Satan and his followers.
