  Is the Watchtower Society strong enough to win this war with the internet?

  could it be that the wts actually thinks it can win this war?

  i mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc.

  i wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem.

  I don't see how this could happen, afterall there are not to many laws for the internet. Just about anyone can get into porn sites including children on the net, I don't see anyone trying to stop that. Here in America we have a constitution that allows for freedom of speach and no watchtower is going to take that away from Americans..................

  Shunning someone is one of the worst things anybody can do, JW or not

  i guess that being shunned doesn't affect everone equally.

  i never did mind being shunned by jw's because i don't have any family or friends there, but being shunned by anyone you care for is cruel.. how did you cope with being shunned?.

  I think shunning someone is a cruel and evil act of hate. I will not shun someone on any account unless they are just dispicable people. Shunning hurts in the most deepest way especially when it comes from someone you love.

  I have been shunned by both family and friends both in the society and out of the society. I have been falsely accused of things I would never dream of doing and this all coming from my dub mother who is the most hateful person I know.

  I never could understand where or why they get there reasoning when the scriptures teaches all about love and against hate. I deal today with a great deal of pain from this act, and I don't know if I can ever get over it. You know we all got to live and continue to live until the end, but I think it sucks when someone hates you so bad just because you disagree with someones belief.

  Prostitution and Marijuana

  i feel that as a country we waste so much time and money fighting prostitution and marijuana use.

  not that i think these things are something everyone should use, but the fact that we make these illegal and yet other things happen that are the same thing, or worse.

  for example, in nevada, outside the city limits, it is legal for prostitution.

  Did you ever hear the statement "being a gentleman" ? When a man brings flowers to his date it shows respect for the person you are dating. It is a gentleman thing to do.

  Now I personally would not hire a prostitue for sex, it goes against my moral beliefs, but like I said what two people do inside the bedroom is noones business.

  But I always bring flowers to the woman I am dating because I am a gentleman.

  NEED HELP WITH INFO ON THE CROSS VS. TORTURE STAKE

  i was at some friends' house last night (ex dubs) and another friend, dan (another ex-dub) was there.

  we got on the subject of the cross and surprisingly, dan still believes that jesus died on a "torture stake" instead of a cross.

  i was surprised and told him that there is ample historical evidence that shows the romans used crosses for cruxifiction as it had been around long before jesus' time.

  What does it matter?

  It actually matters a lot, this is another point in the fact that the watchtower misleads their followers. For me it doesnot matter how Jesus died but the fact that he did die for me.

  I also watched that program and the boobtube, and it had explained how the tree was used with a cross beam, they also had some bones found with nails embedded in the ankles. The watchtower is nothing about truth but all about lies and done in order to separate themselves from christianity.

  I want to compliment those who put their efforts on this post, you all did some fantastic work here on this thread and you deserve a clapping of the hands for your work.

  i made the most awful mistake when i posted a comment about spelling and punctuation on the "bible research etc.." forum.

  i learned that i can't just post comments about things when people are unaware of my sense of humour and my general nature.

  i have spent the day in tears.
