When you type in your browser "watchtower quotes", hundreds of sites come up which quote from the watchtower. Some of those sites are downright damaging to the WTBTS. Why do they go after quotes and leave the others alone???? That's the question which came up while I was browsing.

When in Cal., he was a member of some magician organization even though he was a JW.
You are probably taking about the IBM (International Brotherhood of Magicians). Being a magician myself, I have been a member of the IBM for many years. It always bothered the %$#& out of the JWs. They even went so far as to attend one of my magic shows. Afterwards they insisted I revealed my tricks to prove that it was indeed slight of hand and props. Any self respecting magician will never reveal a trick. However, I felt cornered, and told them that I would reveal exactly two tricks. Whichever tricks impressed them the most during my show, they could tell me and I would reveal them. And so I did, but afterwards, I could tell that they were still not satisfied. They kept nagging my head off about how magic shows should by no means be performed by a person like me. I started to do less and less magic shows, but I never gave up my membership to the brotherhood of magicians. As a matter of fact, I just renewed my magician's license last month.

I never wear any makeup, my hair is clean, but not styled...High heals? never. Jeans? Always. But I feel down about that. I look so dumpy, so dowdy.
Please don't feel down about that. *What's essential is not visible to the eye* (Antoine De Saint-Exupery)
I have never worn make up in my life, have never been to a hairdresser and have never bought new clothes (except for underwears and socks, which I don't buy second hand). I have been wearing the same pair of boots for about 7 years now, they are just about falling apart, but I feel comfortable in them. I take a shower (bath) twice a day and do take care of my body. Take my vitamins, eat right and at least try to get enough sleep.
In my humble opinion, what we wear is completely unimportant, the important thing is that we feel good about it. If other people judge me by which brand of shirt I wear or by how much time and money I spend or not spend on make up, that is their problem, not mine. We all want to look our best, to some this means applying some make up and buying nice looking clothes, and that is cool. To me, looking my best means feeling my best and wearing exactly what I want.. old clothes which are usually too big. I hate tight stuff, it makes me feel uncomfortable.

Long after we were grown up, I once asked my sister.. why did mom hate me so much? It is true, she hated me with a passion and could not hide it. My sister looked at me and said.. you really don't know? No, I didn't know and I always wondered about it.
Her answer.. well, mom hates dad so much she'd kill him if it wasn't against the law, and you are JUST like him. You look like him, talk like him, think like him and act like him.
I guess that answers your question.

Once upon a time, I was standing outside a restaurant when they came to pick up the barrels with old fryer grease. I asked the guys... where do you take that stuff? Does it get recycled? As the barrels were being loaded onto the truck, one of the guys laughed and said.. yes, it is being recycled all right. This will be used as a base for make up. I thought he was pulling my leg, but after doing some research on this, it turned out he was not kidding.

Spiders don't bother me in the least. I'm deadly afraid of cows and horses, but spiders are my friends.

I remember the "view" I had while sitting in my playpen. I also remember trying to pronounce my sister's name, but I couldn't pronounce the "n" and I got quite frustrated. Both events happened before the age of two. We moved when I was almost 4, and I remember a lot of the house we moved out of. The house, the garden, the street..
My grandfather passed away when I was 3 1/2. I remember the entire event quite vividly, especially how I would stay awake at night and stare out the window, because I was told that the angels would come and take him to heaven in a golden carriage.
