This sounds very fishy indeed. *Please* take the advice given to you here.
There are two possibilities here, either he died or he did not. If he did, then there is nothing you can do. His family doesn't know you, and truth be told, when someone dies, often the family will prefer to handle things within their close circle. Having a stranger come in might make them feel uncomfortable. If he didn't die, and he wants to see you, then you will hear from him sooner or later. Should this be the case, you can always explain to him exactly why you didn't take that plane and he will understand.

Anyone feeling the Memorial pressure?
by atypical infor those who are fading, do you feel the pressure building as the memorial approaches?
family members who otherwise are busy with their own interests suddenly start paying more attention, dropping hints and holding their breath as it were.
then there are the invitations.

Come to think of it.. the only meeting I attended last year was the memorial. I had already gotten rid of all my skirts and my dresses (I am a jeans kinda girl). So I went to a church sale and bought something second hand for the occasion. I also brought my own bread, and when they passed the bread around, I took my bread out of my pocket and ate it. It smelled so strong, someone around me MUST have smelled it. Oh well, maybe that's why I haven't gotten an invite yet this year.

Locks of Love--Can you ever imagine JWs doing such a thing?
by rebel8 intoday hundreds of people are volunteering their hair for an org that provides wigs to cancer pts.
the today show in nyc had a few folks allow their long hair to be cut for donation and there are hundreds in another locale doing the same.
there are even little kids doing it!.

A sister at the KH I went to is going completely bald. She is 50, and het twin sister is already bald. Since I have very long hair (It reaches as far as underneath the back pockets of my jeans), we decided to use my hair and put it into a wig for her. Everyone at the KH was all excited about it and nobody ever said that such would be wrong. We contacted a custom wig maker in Washington who will make the wig some time soon. I was told I needed 3 ounces of hair, but since my hair is rather thin, I don't have quite 3 ounces yet. Hopefully soon. Even though I no longer go to the KH, we are still going to go through with this. I don;t think that JWs are against donating your hair. At least, they are not against it at the KH I went to.

It will go on forever. It is a business, and as much as I hate to admit it, they run the business in an excellent, slick and clever way. How many businesses have millions of people working for them on a voluntary basis? If they can accomplish that, then they can accomplish anything.

I made dandelion wine a few years ago. It came out so very strong, only a die hard alcoholic could drink half a glass without going into a coma. Never again!

Same here, Legolas. I have three inventions in my head, all I need is someone to work out the details for me.
A few years ago I met the person who invented the twist tie. You know, those little things you use to close a plastic bag or something. He lives in White Plains NY and he is VERY rich.
