Junction-Guy, you have a study? ROFLMAO!! That is great! How do you hide your feelings while they're there. What is the status of your study? Are you progressing spiritually?

Tennessee JW claims 9 baptized at assembly, 1960 attended.
by gaiagirl ini just received a report from an active jw who went to a circuit assembly in eastern tennessee, stating that attendance was 1960 for the sunday address.
he also stated that 9 were baptized, giving a "growth rate" of 0.46% (if one assumes that all 9 were bible studies, and not merely children of jw parents).
sounds as if "the love of the greater number is cooling off" in tennessee : ) well, i'm sure that's what jw's would say, anyway.

I think you've done a fantastic job.
Keep up the good work.
You fulfill an important part of his life right now - unconditional listening. Plus you have the right life experience to give suggestions.
I really wonder what the wife thought about Crisis of Conscience. The information she read will stick with her for a long long time and hopefully the seed will germinate.

A few questions that this thread brought to mind (some mentioned by others already):
1. If it was a conspiracy why did the conspirators use real planes for the WTC and not for the Pentagon? (brought up by another poster earlier in the thread)
2. Were there passengers/crew on the WTC planes?
3. Was the Pennsylvania flight part of the conspiracy?
4. Were there passengers/crew on the Pennsylvania flight?
5. Are there absolutely no pictures that show a plane before/during/after hitting the pentagon? or video?
6. Has anyone from the government, who is in a position to leak information, done so?
I would really appreciate answers to these questions.

What do you tell your kids about you're exit or near to exit WTS ?
by Ancientofdays inin the last year i made myself aware of wts.
then i resigned from elder, i stopped service , i stopped family study, but i'm still a formal jw.
my wife is still a convinced jw, and we often "discuss" (really sometime we scream a bit too much).

I'm so sorry Candidly.
I dread the day my children get baptized. I can hardly take it when they attend the meetings.
At each step the organization gets its hooks in a little deeper; meeting attendance, commenting, field service, TMS talks, baptism, etc etc etc.
The best point to save someone is before all of that begins.
This thread is freaking me out!! I better work harder and smarter at this.

Help! they're giving me a talk #4 entittled:" IDENTIFYING APOSTATES"
by dark angle inthis is quite awkward for me to give!
our elder gave me that assignment last week and should be delivered next week on the theocratic ministry school.
considering i have very unconventional views for the wts about blood, evolution, bible, and the gb, delivering this talk seemd quite maladroit.

It's not often that someone is so direct and frank from the platform. A lot of the TMS speakers tend to softpeddle the truth. Hopefully your presentation will cause some to think about the organization they're a part of.

This is a really tough question and situation.
Based on your post I assume you don't want your kids to choose being dubs unless they've heard the pros and cons of being one.
What you say and how you say it really depends on your relationship with your wife and other dub family members. Kids aren't real good at keeping secrets. So whatever you tell them will get around. If you don't mind getting disfellowshipped or having your wife really angry with you and quite possibly being labeled an apostate there are many things you can do.
Do you currently plan on remaining a christian? If so, you could find some literature (both hard copy and online) aimed at christian parents and children. For the younger one an example would be WhitsEnd.org. For yourself family.org may be helpful as well.
Whether remaining a christian or not I recommend teaching your children to think for themselves. Teach them critical thinking abilities. I use television commercials aimed at children as a prime way to accomplish this. If you want more detail on that feel free to pm me. Your witness wife shouldn't object as long as you don't use the WTS in a direct reference.
I also make sure my children understand that anyone who says they have all the answers DOESN'T.
Good luck.
