i was thinking about the "glorious" past of my association with the witnesses..... and i started thinking.
were there ever things that really really bothered you that they were doing, and it made you stop and think about what you were really getting involved in?
mine would be at an assembly.
like myself, who were wearing skimpy dresses, spaghetti straps, etc.... I was thinking "Has the assembly turned into a fashion show and mating call?"....
Wish I could have gone to your Assembly all I saw was older hat wearing women (smelling of moth balls) and Men..

i don?t know how many caught this, but the watchtower of march 1st, seems to put a new twist on a familiar watchtower theme of power and control by the gb.
did you notice the last 3 paragraphs of the last study article?
to me, they?re pregnant with hidden meaning, that is, regarding the power struggle that has been going on since the creation of a plethora of corporations a few years ago.. .

I stopped going to the meetings when the Isaiah books were being considered at the "books study" (not Bible Study), they tried to squeeze too much prophecy into the 1919 thing, but notice how this is now being down-graded

i recall praying countless of times about very specific things, "worked in harmony with my prayers" and nothing.
anything that remotely seemed like an answer was either coincidence or my own determination to get it done.. so, how about you?
did jehovah answer your prayers or were you like me, did you feel very frustrated and guilty because they were never answered?

No, I don?t think my prayers were answered, one night I was praying, and suddenly I came around thinking, ?there's no one listening to me?, and gave up, it was like a flash of light to me. I no longer pray.
I also remember praying for our dear Brothers and Sister in Malawi, I don?t think they got any relief from there terrible ordeal (membership card issue), but after reading Ray Franz book Crises of Conscience, I now know that the GB could have changed policy on this issue, and saved all the suffering. Maybe I should have prayed that the GB change policy?

when i read wt literature, i constantly find myself astounded by how transparently cultish the language is.

Just to add clarity to this point the UK Government release secret document under the 30 year rule, and allow then to be examined publicly. This is just what the BBC have done, it is not "made up stuff", just true reporting. The 30 year rule is a rule pertaining to archives which states that all documents or files which have been closed for more than 30 years are accessible to the public. I believe the EU also applies this ruling.

ps it is always interesting each new year to read whats been hidden.
they're saying the prophecy is possibly fulfilled of "peace and security and then sudden destruction" in the year 1986 when world leaders dubbed that year as the "year of peace".
the feb.1st watchtower mentions that just as a pregnant woman over 9 months gradually has signs of a baby's growth in the womb, so too, we may have a fulfillment of bible prophecy without knowing it fully beforehand until the effects and results become obvious.
my mother read excerpts of the wt.
I was at the 1985 District Convention and the speaker mentioned that 1986 would be the "The International Year of Peace" and I clearly remember him saying that we (WT) are not saying that this will be the signal for the great tribulation?but we need to be the more watchful, and ready, also make sure that we are doing as much in our service to Jehovah???..

Once a long time ago at a very boring Sunday talk (what's new?) a brother posed the same question, so what he did was ask all the males in the audience to show hands, then after asked all the females to do the same. He then at length explained that as we all know what sex we are, and are very certain of that, it was the same for the 144,000 they just knew that they had the heavenly calling. It's that simple!
