Shunning Rules Changed Again
by Amazing insometime ago the faq at jw-media stated that if one "simply ceases to be involved, they are not shunned.
" ... now, the wording has changed to allow a broader position, one that could include even many more former jws, and "maybe" become the basis whereby they could argue that they are not apostate: do you shun former members?
those who simply leave the faith are not shunned.

Amazing...Do you think they are refering to DA'd ones? That would be directly opposite of their August KM. They make it very confusing...I think because they want Joe Blow to they're kinder and gentler. But think about it...DA'd ones have simply left the faith...not convicted of any moral wrong. But the KM says to treat 'em like DF'd folks who have been supposedly convicted. I cannot figure it out.

I'm Upset and Annoyed
by Scully inmy brother (raised a jw, never baptized, not a jw at all) and i were talking this morning, and he informed me that our grandmother - our last living grandparent - is very ill. it sounds as though she will die soon, because she stopped taking her insulin and all other medications.
my mother informed my brother after receiving a phone call from her brother/my uncle.. i'm the only one of my siblings who was not informed directly by our mother.
out of all my siblings, i'm the only one who was baptized as a jw and then left, so i'm thinking this is par for the course with being shunned, although my grandmother was never a jw herself.

Scully...sorry for your problem. I don't give advise but I would probably call 'em and see if they'd give up the info on their own. It would certainly show how strong their affiliation with Dubdom is. Your relationship is already strained with your parents and it really sucks that they do this knowing that the grandmother is not a Witness and would probably not approve. I tend to be a little hot-headed because of what I'm going thru, but sometimes it's good to think it over for a while and weigh everything. Only you know and whatever you decide I'm sure will be right. I know this because of your intelligent, well thought out posts.

by carol hall ini had some jehovah witness people comming to my door.. one day they ask me if i would like to have a bible study.. just curious at what they would.. i said yes as long as we stay in the bible.
they said ok.. i found out they could`nt teach from the bible without their helps.. one day one of them said oh!!

Hey if you really wanted to be sneaky, you had the Un-Reasonable Book sown into the back of your Bible so the householder thought you were searching for scripture, but you were looking for Borg advise...and if you had a good partner, they'd keep the householder busy while you came up with something and then they would do the same..back and forth. Good sales tactics.

Viv...you are a great grandchild. I wish my daughter had your empathy and love for her grandmother. My daughter is a 100% Dubbie who never really showed any affection to her grandparents and now that they've DA'd themselves, she probably will never see them again. You are to be commended for you caring, loving attitude. Your grandma is lucky to have you.

Life sucks
by joannadandy inall right- all those out there who own pets, or have owned pets will hopefully see my point of view and understand.
the rest of you can point and laugh at my weakness.... my cat is dying.
she is 119 in people years, i guess it's to be expected that she go sometime, but still it sucks!

Joanna....I am very sorry for you. I miss every pet I've ever had and by the way I've owned a couple of Siamese cats. They are the greatest. Someone said they were mean but nothing could be further from the truth. They are the best cats I think because they are so people-oriented. Most of them literally want to be with you all the time...less independent than other cats. They truely enjoy their masters. I miss my Siamese just talking about it and yours is a beautiful cat. I'm really sorry for you.

I think they're getting more involved in the Holocaust thing because they smell $$$$. They have their hands out along with a bunch of Jewish organizations for money that is going to be divied out. They have already put in their proposal asking for it.
