Let's just get something straight about 1975.

nobody ever said that the end was coming in 1975.. all the hype about this date that has continued all the way down through today came from a talk in the early 70's by fred franz.

in this talk, franz pointed out the significance of the 7 creative days and how they correspond with 1,000-year time intervals.. he then said, "could the end come in 1975?

there's so much wrong with jehovah's witnesses from their rigid legalism to their faux love, but let's call a spade a spade about the 1975 thing..

Freddy started it and the governing assholes supported it by rumor and speaking out of both sides of their mouth. Of course they never made the statement "1975 is the End"...but "all indications lead to that conclusion"...and "thinking individuals can reasonably conclude" and on and on. Listen to what was said at conventions and by CO's and DO's.

Armageddon frenzy = big gains in publishers and $$$$$$$$$$$$$ Oh if only they could figure a way to do it again and get away with it. Actually they have but not to that degree.

African JWs Can Keep "Messianic" Attire Because It's There Culture!

my mom went to the sunday meeting and a missionary that was formerly in the congregation was showing (boring) slides about the "work" in africa.

when he showed some pictures of some witnesses, they were dressed in what he called "messianic attire".

he told the audience that it was no big deal that they were being allowed to continue this style of dress by the society since it was merely seen as "cultural".

I saw a young lady in "Messianic" attire the other day. I told my buddy, "Jesus Christ would you look at that mini skirt?!" It was truly a spiritual experience.

i have been hearing about a secret socioty called the illuminati.

i started seeing some connections on my own between illuminati and what i heard when i was at the meetings when i was younger.

if you could make and distribute bumper stickers to use as a tool to open the minds of jws or cult members, what would you put on them?.

keep in mind that you would like to open thier minds, yet not offend them.

something that any person could stick on their bumper and the jws would not be able to find reason to label them as opposers or apostates.

i just got an email today telling me of an email circulation among the jws about an newspaper article in coquitlam, british columbia in canada.

currently, the jws are not exempt from paying city taxes.

it reports that the council is reviewing its policy on tax breaks to be given to certain groups.

Well it seemed to be letting me vote more than once... but after 50 times the count JUST went up from 42 to 43 "No's", so apparently it's not...OR a dubb is working in the Council office.

Actually it's prob good that they don't update it too often. The dubbs will go there and think they're winning by a landslide and then the final vote will be tallied (after 1,000 apostates vote 25 times each) and woo hoo...it's Special Needs Talk time!

Yes it seems to be allowing multiple votes which is what the dubbs are probably doing too...so me and my multiple personalities just voted. if I can scare up a few dozen friends to vote and their friends and their dogs...hmm, how many people use this JWD? They could possibly get defeated. Gee wouldn't it be sad if they had to pay a tax?

i am so angry right now.

my father worked his butt off for years at his job and for the wbts.. in the 60's he was a painter and use to bathe in benzine to clean him self off.

this was before anyone new this was a cancer causing chemical.. he worked for years at assemblys, and as an elder etc.. he realized the foolishness of 1975 and started saving big time leaving my mother a nice savings account plus a huge retirement fund.. he developed kidney cancer at age 60 due to the benzine and survived.

Sorry restrangled. My dad was going to leave a sizable chunk to the borg but I was able to get him out before he passed so they got zippo from him. Whatever you do in a legal way to contest it (and you can) just be sure to get plenty of publicity to make them look bad. They hate that kind of press.

Has anyone spoken 'in tongues'?

i've been attending an independent church were the women wave flags, play realy loud live music, speak in tongues (not me) and alot of other thingsi never saw in kh.

it realy feels weird, but have closer friendships than in kh.
