  A New Scholar has just entered the Building

  our new resident scholar, rev1212 informs the board that.... the year 1914, which is the year that the gentile times (aka appointed times of the nations) ended, was determined though a study of the bible along with no doubt some holy spirit given to the brothers that were able to discern this information.. there are quite a few scriptures involved in coming to the year 1914, one of them from ezekiel about "lifting off the crown and it will be no one's until he who has the legal right comes".

  so that is the starting point, which was 607 bc, when jerusalem fell to babylon.

  then another significant scripture is from daniel chapter 4 which showed the appointed times of the nations would be "seven times".

  i have spoken to a number of jws since the annoucement was made about the private book study group being eliminated from jan 2009.. .

  the governing body were fully aware that writing "satan is angrier than ever" as the opening sentence of the letter, jehovah's witnesses would put 2 and 2 together and make 5.. .

  they were counting on this.

  Ya know, I ran into Satan the other day at WalMart and he really is pissed off...

  ...apparently too many Dubbies are purchasing 4-door cars and SUVs creating an overwhelming surplus of nice 2-door models and really screwing up the economy. That and the fact that Satan has major investments in the cotton-blend fabric industry and all those Dubbies insist on Polyester-blends...his dividends are way down....Good gawd people, How is the preeminent Evil Being of the whole Universe supposed to build any kind of retirement package with 6-million Dubbies flaunting their "right" to be different. And now they will spend less at the pump hurting the Great Horned One's oil portfolio.

  The Drueling Body is way ahead of him! Instead of retiring in the lap-of-luxury in Vegas he's going to be forced into spending his golden years at Jerry Springer Trailer Haven in Del Rio Texas. A very sad end to such a proud celestial entity.

  Falling Asleep at Assemblies

  yes i have dozed off many times when i used to attend.

  most of the time kept the shades on as we used to have outside assemblies.

  the thing was not to slide off the chair, drop your head forward or snore.. i've seen some brothers/sister hitting a serious lean to the left or right as they slept and then they'd jerk awake, only to lean again.. some people had sneaky methods.

  i have not seen the topic discussed here and have been unsuccessful in getting the search function of the site to gather information about it, but i wonder if we as a group could sue the washtowel society.

  All I can say is, the WTBS is getting away with murder. Try kicking someone out of your business, fraternal organization or other religion and then tell the co-workers, members or rest of the flock to treat them like Whores & Cheats...and see if you can get away with it.

  It was da Judge who I believe first put the nail in the Mom's Day coffin. Can't remember which book but he rails against "standing up when a woman enters the room", "removing your hat" for them and especially their own Day...oh my gawd...da debil is workin' overtime with all this creature worship.

  I still think a slander/defamation suit could be successfully pursued since the WTBS actively tell their followers from the platform and in their printed material to "treat" people who leave their organization as, "liars, fornicators, idolaters", etc. These are people who voluntarily leave becasue of differing opinions. In other words, you can NEVER leave under any good circumstance without it ruining your family structure.

  Case in point, my parents were denied their "right" to go to their granddaughters wedding reception because they disassociated. She stated in a letter to them that she could "allow" them to come to the wedding to observe her ceremony but they had to "leave after that", because attending the reception would be "socializing" with them. Feel the love. As someone once pointed out, the WTBS is just like the Mafia because you can join but you can never leave. I also read somewhere that Courts were NOT sympathetic to entities who have disruptive influences on families.

  PS. For any Dubbies who might be reading this, my 70+ parents were not "liars, fornicators, idolators" or anything else insinuated by the WTBS but if you have the balls to say it to my face prepare to have your ass kicked.

  when you look at all the pain and suffering in this world, and then wonder why god decided that mankind should pay for one man's sin, with interest on top of that, it's revolting.. no way can the added pain and suffering of billions of people equal the fault that adam did.. .

  God allowed a Being of far far far far superior intelligence to outwit these 2 humanoids who didn't even have enough street smarts to ask..."Hey will this fruit at least get me high?" How fair is that. It's comparable to you playing poker with your dog and when he loses you take him out back and shoot himcause that proves to your neighbors You are smarter (actually my dogs have always been better poker players than me).

  And as others have brought up...what loving father does that to his kids? I might be able to see the whole thing IF it was another couple of humanoids that bamboozeled Adam & Eve...but a heavenly creature with the abilities that the Debill has? Come on people..the Debil can become invisible, can transform himself into a Being of Light and lately he's been transforming himself into Exxon. It's just not fair!

  "Paradise Lost" and "JWs in Divine Purpose" -- PDFs!

  i received a request for pdfs of from paradise lost to paradise regained (1958) and jehovah's witnesses in the divine purpose (1959).

  these are pdfs that have been around for a few years, so some here may already have them.

  the only difference is these have bookmarks added to them to aid in finding info quickly.
