Im sure that question and the 0% increase will be just oh so encouraging. lol Maybe this question was directed more at the third world countries then the industrialized countries, either way it wasn't a very tactful question on their part.

YESTERDAY'S WT STUDY
by Mary inoh lordy, at yesterday's botchtower study, paragraph 17 (i think) asked what we personally found "encouraging" about the 2004 stats that are listed by country in the wt.
anyway, someone finally put up their hand and remarked about how wonderful it was to see that ethiopia had a 5% increase......ya, i guess if you're starving to death, who wouldn't want to hear that paradise is right around the corner.
one bro put up his hand and actually mentioned the fact that there was 0% increase in virtually all the industrialized nations, but that we "shouldn't let that discourage us".

Losing faith in the organization
by parakete ini have been a jw for more than 20 years, but during these past few years i have come to realize that some of the elders and regular publishers are very hypocritical and insensitive.
they have done things that really disgust me.
tare so arrogant that they cannot take any criticism form you.

Welcome to the board. Hypocrisy abounds in the organization, even more so in the higher levels. The unchristian behavior in the congregations is basically a manifestation of the whole spirit of the org.. It just filters its way down from above.

My mom was just rushed to the Hospital....

and you know how i know...... not because my dad called me or anthing like that..... thanks to years of working in law enforcement/public safety i'm pretty nosey and have a "scanner" in my house that monitors police, fire and ambulance calls.. just heard the ambulance go to my parents house because my mother wasn't breathing properly..... she has renal failure and must go to kidney dialysis 3 times a week.
sometimes for no reason her body simply stops processing fluids and she "fills up" and basically begins to drown from the inside.. i can only assume that this is the case tonight....of course nowdays hospitals wont tell you anything without the patients permission...... keep her in your thoughts....she may shun me but i can't help but worry about her.....

I send her my best wishes as hospitals are not fun to be in at all. Would a unexpected visit from you cause any problems, I cant see why it should. Your their son and you should be able to visit your mother if shes in the hospital. I think its ridiculous that they would apply shunning tactics to such a case. Hopefully she pulls through ok.

awesome.. today i went to the book store and picked up malachy mccourt's history of ireland which looks to be a promising read.
then today padraig harrington won the honda classic.. aye, irish eyes are gleaming!

Sounds like a good read Cygnus. I love history and can spend hours reading about it. My knowledge of Irish history is a bit lacking but always find it facinating. Ive got a book that spans some English history from AD 70 to 1589, deals with the early begginings of England and how they became a dynasty. Let me know how the book goes when you finish reading it.

Man am I bummed....
by upside/down injust got off the phone with my brother who lives in socal (nondub) and was informed that my dad just had a stroke!.
he's my "dad", not the sperm donor that helped concieve me and my brother than abandoned us so he could "find himself".
he's 74, very intelligent old school retired ex marine, that served in the korean war.

there are more plastic surgeons and medicines and elixers, drugs, herbalists, and religious nuts all promising the same thing.... youth..

Yes, the search for the fountain of youth goes back along ways in human history. Its a good selling point I guess because no one wants to get old. Where you can come up with some way of slowing it down theirs good money to be made. If you can offer them a supposed hope of never dying, even more money can be made by having them work to your means to attain it. I find all witnesses are paraniod of death so the org. seems to know which carrots to dangle.

Ive seen this lots before, just like its ok to accept the christmas bonus but claim to not support christmas. Ive also seen jw's at a "worldly associates"(as they would say it)birthday party because they were also in his very wealthy will, but of course it was ok because they didn't eat any cake. They treat this man better then their own mother because he is a bacholer, worth alot financially, and no immediate family. So if they butter him up they get his money, and their mother who is in a old folks home gets an occasional hello. Ive even seen an elder share drinks at a christmas staff party, but of course he appeased his guilt by not saying merry christmas. So the same with the turkey, they just justify it because it benefits them. Anyone else would probably do the same even though its essentially being hypocritical.
