I think its sad that religion is above the court systems power. They should be held liable just as any individual or other corporation is.

.
it is really sad and shocking that the court did not rule in the girls favor.
elsewhere posted the link to the court documents in another thread, but here it is again: http://www.courts.state.nh.us/supreme/opinions/2005/berry081.htm .

wow, yeah i was looking fr the theocratic ministry school oral review questions and i came across an apostate site!
the site was www.jehovahs-witness.com and was just fill of retarded apostates!
they were not only using a domain name and header name that denotes a conection with the actual watchtower society, but where using it to blasphem the jehovah's true organization in order to help people break away.
Ah, an emissary of Jehovah's loving organization has stopped by to encourage us.
That is funny as hell. I can just picture this dweeby dub at his puter, still dressed in his hand me down 3 piece suit just fresh back from a sunday meeting all pumped from the public talk, thats just gonna tear a stip off the apostates. And teach us all a big lesson for daring to use our free will and choose to disagree with the watchtower hypocrisy.

so my brother and i have been having talks about what will happen when our dad passes away eventually.
most of his brothers and sisters have died in their 50's or early 60's.
i flat out refuse to attend any part of the service that would be done at the kingdom hall.
I just wanted to say that I wouldn't want to go either, I dont blame you. It's hard when it's family though. Either way I agree with blondies comment
These are never about the person but an "opportunity" to preach to the non-JWs present.
Exactly the person means nothing but the Org is all important. Orwellian thinking at its best.

jws claim to be led by god.
he is directing their organisation by his spirit.. they believe that smoking is wrong, in fact a disfellowshipping offense.
so why did god not tell them that smoking was wrong?.
The GB is probably lucky if they can still even function, nevermind lead. Probably senile dreams is leading them. lol

i've just been informed that there are a growing number of spanish speaking jw apologists who are flooding the spanish speaking net with nonsense about the usual so-called "apostate lies", and attempting the usual lying defenses of the jw organization.
apparently these are mostly mexican jws.
some of the defenses seem to be relatively new in the sense that they've not been covered before in english.. since i don't speak spanish, and i know of few present spanish jw-critical resources, there's a real need for spanish speaking ex-jws to respond to these typically braindead attacks.. i've also been informed that a brazilian jw has been translating the spanish jw defenses into portuguese, so if there are any portuguese speakers willing to help out, please let me know.. alanf
Don't know spanish, but hope you get these translated.

it's been commented on several times on this forum, but it would seem that the billions of hours lavished by jws in purportedly getting their message to the public has been a dismal failure, at least if measured by the extent to which they've been able get their core beliefs (i.e., god's kindom has been established invisibly in 1914 and you had better get with our program or face annihilation -- and soon) -- across to the public.
take a look at some of the front-page titles of this current year's magazines (especially the awake!
which most jws like to feature in preference to the wt) and ask yourselves: where the !#!%!
Dont mind my saying but Katie Kitten is cute!

Well in the awake header it used to qoute the creator as promising "That this generation that witnessed the events of 1914 would not pass away until these promises were fullfilled". What happened to that important promise? Same as the rest when their date failed they abandoned it along the wayside as if it was never really anything significant anyway, and hope in time people will forget it ever existed. Probably much the same with the Awake articles, too afraid to step out on a limb with any more big promises of the good news of the Kingdom. They seem to be cautious now but still spout their "oh were in the final hour" jargon to people.

there were good arguments for both dates.
i began to study daniel 4, and have a new question.
here is the gist of nebuchadnezzar's dream: daniel 4:10 now the visions of my head upon my bed i happened to be beholding, and, look!
Thanks for posting that Peaceful Pete. Shows clearly that the 607 date is not feasible in any instance when compared with that chart and the 18th regnal year of the Babylonian King. I cant see in any way how the Society can come up with any real evidence to support their 607 bce.. To accept 607 one would have to ignore all the historic and artifactual evidence clearly pointing to a date of 586/587 bce.. Im not sure because I havnt read the book yet but I think that Carl Olof Jonsons "Gentile Times Reconsidered" would be an excellent read in discussion of this date.

can someone who knows about this please elaborate as i have never heard this explanation.
i had no idea that their was a possibility that john was depicting babylon the great as figurative to rome.
this is new to me but very interesting, can someone please provide some references or examples as to how this is probable.
Thank you for giving me some good information on this subject. I was pretty overwhelmed, never really knew about that comparison between Babylon and Rome before. Interesting how they were in crisis at the time suffering persecution under Rome and pressure to conform to Pagan beliefs, and that this book of Revelation seems to be a work that was wrote for that period giving courage and hope of the messianic phrophecies to the Christians. Thankyou Classicist and Leo for that information and the very imformative thread in which Leo clearly showed very probable evidence. I liked the point in which the Harlot was refered to in present tence and not future tence. This was really an eye opener for me.
On a side note has anyone heard or read this before, This comes from the link Classicist posted from the New American Bible site,
The author of the book calls himself John ( Rev 1:1 , 4 , 9 ; 22:8 ), who because of his Christian faith has been exiled to the rocky island of Patmos, a Roman penal colony. Although he never claims to be John the apostle, whose name is attached to the fourth gospel, he was so identified by several of the early church Fathers, including Justin, Irenaeus, Clement of Alexandria, Tertullian, Cyprian, and Hippolytus. This identification, however, was denied by other Fathers, including Denis of Alexandria, Eusebius of Caesarea, Cyril of Jerusalem, Gregory Nazianzen, and John Chrysostom. Indeed, vocabulary, grammar, and style make it doubtful that the book could have been put into its present form by the same person(s) responsible for the fourth gospel. Nevertheless, there are definite linguistic and theological affinities between the two books. The tone of the letters to the seven churches ( Rev 1:4 - 3:22 ) is indicative of the great authority the author enjoyed over the Christian communities in Asia. It is possible, therefore, that he was a disciple of John the apostle, who is traditionally associated with that part of the world. The date of the book in its present form is probably near the end of the reign of Domitian (A.D. 81-96), a fierce persecutor of the Christians.
And also to JC, yes I am familar with the Watchtowers interpretation on this matter but thankyou for clarrifying their viewpoint on this matter.

Sorry forgot to mention that this is from the book of Revelation. Seen this in a recent post that thier could be some evidence of this being true.
