Why can you not question/double standard

what always gripes me with the witnesses has been this one simple double standard of theirs.

when you look at a watchtower or any publication of theirs, it has two messages.

Omg this was considered sound watchtower reasoning?

Anyone who has ever been raised on a farm or been aquanted with biology for any period of time know this comparison is a rather weak and commical one. For one thing bulls dont have a set partner, one bull may breed up to a hundred cows in a season. Also it is a release of hormones that triggers the cows reproduction cycle. The bull always sniff the cows you know what, so yes that is considered porneia to watchtower standards. Plus the bull is not married so he's fornicating with many partners, and guess what the bull dont stick around to raise the calf so hes also a dead beat dad. LOL This bull would be disfellowshiped if he was a baptized JW bull. I can already see the judicial commitee seting up to interview the bull on these allegations. Elder wingnut "Ok Ferdinand the bull have you had sexual relations with betsy the cow?" Ferdinand " MOOOOOO!" Oh heck lets disfellowship any and all cattle worldwide in sake of the Watchtower.

Boy they sure take people for fools, do they think we all have basic education? No wonder their is such a brain drain in the Witnesses. Anyone with any intelligence in biology couldn't stomach this sort of reasoning. Also love how they throw that little mention of the girl who could be disfellowshiped if she was a dedicated member. Lets not forget they need to throw a little fear into the article too. Makes me sick to the stomach.

Their lucky if their not crapping in a bag by now never mind debating. The only visions I think they have now is not from holy spirit but from being senile. Dont think they could match you Farkel or anyone for that matter with sound evidence against their policies.

Justification of misquotations

i am seriously considering taking on a jw with the issue of misquotations especially the creation book.

my question is does anyone know what his reaction is going to be?

its a strange situation because theres really no question.

Most will shut down but some who still have some ability of autonomy may consider proving to themselves that the watchtower couldn't misquote and may actually look into it. If the subject in question is of interest to the person and it touches an emotion, you may have great sucess. I never give up trying to break that Org barrier people set up for themselves, but It is hard to break down. Even had one that seen all the misquotes, all the hyprocrisy, and still chooses to go back to the JW religion in full force. So hard to say, but even if they do go back, they cant erase from their memory what they saw. Even if in 10 years it may spring back into their mind and with further changing doctrines of the org it maybe what helps them to leave in the future.

Proposal for Annulment of Dedication and Baptism

I hope you can do this and set a precadent because it one could annul their baptism from the Org. I would be first in line and cease all acknowledgement even on paper that I ever was connected with this religion.

Problem is though its a high control group. If you look into the psychological methods employed by high pressure control groups they never leave a honourable way out, never give a good excuse for leaving. When one chooses to leave they are always classed in the minds of the group as weak, sinful, lazy, decieved, or some other dishonourable reason. You can not leave these groups with your honour intact. They purposefully destroy the credibility and dignity of the one leaving so that it is a continous reminder to others what happens when you leave the group. Another lovely thought control and indoctrination tactic brought to you by the Watchtower society.

Fear sells but whos buying?

another thing i always disliked about the organization was all the fear tactics.

Another thing I always disliked about the Organization was all the fear tactics. A God supposedly with a forefront quality of love was always shown in Mags and books to be a tyrant ready to swiftly execute the evil in his hot anger. Everything was FEAR. Fear God, Fear the Watchtower, Fear elders, Fear df'ing, Fear doing something wrong, Fear having to much recreational fun, Fear armagedon. For ones with such supposed unwavering faith in ~~God~~ Watchtower they all sure seem paranoid of the world, God, and armageddon.

Obviously the old fear tactic still works to keep one imprisoned in the Org, but what is their recent approachs in the public ministry? Are they still pushing this big fear of armageddon on ones or have they abandoned that approach for more everyday ho hum topics? Just wondering since I've been out for 5 + years now I guess. I still hear them occasionally say how the GB said we were in the final hour before the big A and that makes me laugh. They dont realize how silly they sound when compared to sound reasoning from the bible. They contradict themselves without even knowing it. Stupid gullible people putting trust in man. Sad but true, maybe fear is still selling to the public.

I have been recently reading ISOCF and am now on the indoctrination chapter. What always gripes me with the witnesses has been this one simple double standard of theirs. When you look at a watchtower or any publication of theirs, it has two messages. One for outsiders, one for insiders. It encourages ones outside of the organization to challenge any and all claims of their religion to see if they are viable, even if one holds dear thoese beliefs or has had them for many years. To insiders though the message is never to research, never question, never look into any Organizational policies. This erks me as a clear double standard.

Another thing I have a problem with is they claim that questioning the GB is questioning God. Since when has questioning mens reasoning or logic been ever equated with questioning God. Should not one test and make sure that it is so, especially in the case of imperfect men. Since when does their biblical interpretations become unquestionable by the punishment of disfellowshipment. How can they not see that by putting their trust in men they are being misled. How is it so hard for them to understand that questioning any religions teaching and continually monitoring and researching everchanging doctrines is a right and normal approach to any human interpretation. Its sad but the rank and file have been conditioned to overlook this very conflicting rule when looked at against sound bible reasoning. To me its building foundations upon the sand which can be easily washed away, hence the larger JW turnover rate. I hope ones will wake up and realize that questioning mans reasoning is a necessary and very sound thing to do. Even God warns ones not to be misled but examine the utterance and make sure of all things. I have never agreed with this rule of not being able to discuss Org. policies/doctrines and never will, but would like to get an idea of how they can justify putting mans reasoning on the same level as Gods. They cant use the Holy Spirit excuse because it dont hold water, that would still require putting blind faith in man that they even have holy spirit. I dont buy their reasoning on this and never will, but sure amazes me how they dupe 6 million ordinary people into this reasoning.

Lets see many different occasions. Ive recently got stung by a swack of black hornets as I was weedeating and didnt realize their was a huge nest on an tree stump in the grass. BRRRRRR. Swack! All of a sudden I feel about 5 sharp pains on my arms and look! OHHHHH $HIT! Seen them all swarming, huge nest all ripped to shreds and ran like hell. Arm swole up for awhile. Got bitten first time this summer by a wasp while riding my motorcycle. Crawled up my arm stung me. Got stung by a honeybee and believe it or not that one swelled up the worst. Got bitten by a spider before, even bitten and leaped at by a green igauna, it was mating season and I was gonna let him outside and he just leaped at me, that scared the bejeazers out of me. Bite didnt hurt though, the claws and tail are the worst. Had several dog bites over the years, ant bites, and been pecked at by chickens.

Yikes Purplesofa, Ive seen the brown recluse and pictures of what its venom can do. Thats friggin freaky and glad you caught it in time.
