Not bloody likely. Unless it was to stir up some $hit, but like was already mentioned by Undercover I have better things to do with my time then to sit in boredom and wait for the oppurtunity to stir up $hit.

how can people like defd be here and see all the blatant lies by the society and still accept it?.
607 bc and 1914 are based on complete falsehood, and are only borrowed from the adventists and millerites.
the trinity brochure took almost all of their sources out of context.
vietcongregation LMAO Now thats funny! Never heard that one before but im going to remember that one, if I can stop laughing.

Oh well, I think in some ways it's good to have both elements on this board. It shows that people are begining to use their autonomy a little more, even if it is in a very basic sence. They are attempting to support their belief structure even in the blast of overwhelming evidence to the contrares of what they have been persauded to personally accept. It's not a bad thing and it actually shows they have character, but the key is that they may be open minded enough to accept the reality and the truth about the concepts they believe. If in the light of evidence they continue to support beliefs that have clearly beyond the point of doubt been proven false, then that equates to ignorance.
My hope is that ones like def'd and others in similar mindsets may accept the fact that they have been misled in their beliefs on the bible, and don't fall into the trap of ignorance by continuing to support thoese beliefs against all sound reasoning. I think everyone here no matter how prolonged their exposure to the truth about the Watchtower, cannot leave without their conscience being stirred into action. When you realize you were duped into a system of lies built upon lies to support lies, the amounts of lives destroyed, casualties, and victims due to man made doctrines, you cannot have your eyes opened and continue in support of such a corrupt system without your conscience bothering you continuously.
If one did continue to support such a defunked system then one would have to sell out their very being and become a mere shell clothed in Watchtower hypocrisy. I don't believe one could continue in such a mindless and unfullfilling course without feeling personal deficiency. Look at Ray and how it bothered him to the point of madness to even continue to accept or support such a contaminated belief system as put forth by the GB. I much the same was very bothered by what I discovered and could never accept or be part of the Watchtower mandate again.
I also believe that both sides being present on this board gives up ample opportunity to hone our anti-watchtower and corruption exposure skills to their higher levels of effectiveness.

I recomend "In Search Of Christian Freedom" by Raymond V. Franz to thoese who have left the watchtower and pherhaps are lost in what their beliefs maybe. A good book for everyone but especially thoese wanting to maintain the christian element in their lives. It basically helps to build your independance from a Christian authority structure or organization, and rekindles your personal autonomy in making choices as to what "you" will or will not accept in your belief structure. The key is not to adopt anyones beliefs, nor the ones of the author but rather to strike out on a course of lasting fullfillment in which you can find joy in making sound decisions based on "your" personal judgement and belief rather than on enforced or pressured human doctrine. It helps you to realize that no one can make your choices for you, but rather we all must accept the resposiblity of governing our own lives through careful thought out personal reasoning.

i once questioned my father the elder about how we really knew the governing body was the "faithful and discreet slave" spoken of in scripture.
to answer he took me to the scripture (i cannot remember which one, and am too lazy to look it up) that asks the question......."who really is the faithful and discreet slave?
".......yada, yada, yada.. that's it.
Ahhh Yes the Parable. What evidence. lol They are masters at stretching scriptures well beyond their meaning, trying to weave a string of non related scriptures together to add weight to their doctrines, only because one of the scriptures carried a word or some phrase they felt they could utilize. Take a bible and any scripture and if you think long enough you can make it say whatever you like, and you can begin to add several together and even make a seemingly air tight explanation. Under closer examination though it is really full of holes and the binding holding it together will become undone. Much the same with the Watchtower, only problem is the R and F can't question or they face sanctions, so they have not much choice but accept a sketchy explanation as evidence. They are forced to accept and believe or lose their social environment and friends. Its blackmail at its worst.

don't laugh, now!
i was watching 'quincy' this afternoon, and the episode was about the denial of the holocaust.
what the person denying that the horrific holocaust actually took place was saying was that the evidence was fabricated, written evidence made up, and pictures were also concocted to appear that the atrocities had taken place.. well, it just reminded me, as many things do these days, of the wtbts stance on apostates and the internet.
That is definetly got to be one of the most aggravating defences of the watchtower, "Oh we never told you to believe in.. (1975 etc.). The R and F just got ahead of themselves and were jumpy in their presumtions." That always seems to be their defence, just point the finger elsewhere and hope that it don't point back and if it does then just disfellowship them.
Or yes like the point Gill made they just say it never happened, much like Beth Sarim was covered up for along time untill damning evidence forced them to bring it to light. Of course they still downplayed it big time and this is much in the same lines as the UN scandal. Just deny, deny, deny, until absolutely necessary, then blame, blame, blame. It is very frustrating and I always voice that when someone brings up 1975 and tries to blame the R and F, I just tell them plainly, "well maybe your leaders shouldn't have made such presumptions to begin with and who is to blame the originators and enforcers of the idea, or the followers? Sounds much like an abusive relationship to me."

"christians" are so proud of their one bible... the most widely distributed...blah blah blah...and thus it must be "god's" word.... yet the wts (in particular) is constantly producing new "literature"...why?.
can't they comment on what they "know" about a certain scripture and leave it at that...i mean how much real "new light" is there?.
they just rehash the same old crap over and over.... cheeezus...print one book...and then just "revise" it as needed... oh wait...i thought they had one book...the bible.... why do the interpretations need interpretation...???.
I think its alot like a computer that gets outdated in a year by software developers and computer manufacturers, to be able to create more revenue. Much the same with their study books which they replace every few years, creates alot of new revenue for the Watchtower publishing agency, and every R & F has to obtain at least three of them. Then think of all the new buzz created and the placements made by the sales team.(ie. door to door). They must make a killing in donations everytime a new book is released, nevermind all the mags each month.

i usually don't read wt or awakes, but i stumbled on an article that shows the borg's two-facedness.. the article talks about a group of mennonites that had doubts about their religion and wanted to study with the jws.
after the first paragraph, i realized that i had felt exactly like those poor mennonites when i decided to study the jw's history.
let me explain... i have scanned some parts of the articles: .
Oh Goody. From one high control cult to the next. I think the witnesses might be even worse and these menonites are gonna get a feeling of deja vu alright when they attempt to question any witness doctrine using the bible. Two faced hypocrites but what else do we expect from the Watchtower cult.

So I take it "God" isn't "Green"...and he must hate trees
Like Gary said the Watchtower is a publishing empire and they produce countless amounts of rehashed literature because they have a steady consumer, namely the R and F. You could not even imagine the amount they make by continually pumping out new mags and books, especially when 6 million are guaranteed customers. Corporations especially publishing empires don't really care about trees or the environment, they only care about one thing the bottom line, which is the almighty dollar.
