does the watchtower allow gambling if the winnings are returned?
http://www.newkerala.com/news.php?action=fullnews&id=15686serena returns money won in gambling .
new york: tennis star and tv actress serena williams returned her winnings in gambling recently as she is a jehovah's witness and it is against her faith to gamble.. .
she is a Jehovah's Witness and it is against her faith to gamble.
According to the New York Post, Williams was gambling
Williams stayed true to her faith. As she was leaving she gave back all the chips she had won worth around $400 to a stranger at a table.
Wow she sure stayed true to her faith. "Against her faith to gamble, according to New York Post, Williams was gambling."
Uhhh I don't think she stayed true to her faith. Typical hypocrite dub, and then appeases her conscience by giving the money away. Oh well I guess when you got lots of money for the donation box the Witnesses turn a blind eye.

prior to my resignation from the jws, i heard a taped talk by bro.
kite (appeared to be an american from the bethell) where he spoke about some-one in a communist country joining the org.
and making his way "up the ladder", eventually finishing up as a district overseer.
The following is a link to another topic about Jim's book that he is publishing but its interesting in that it shows that the governing body knows nothing of the people they sppoint to CO's. Good to see the holy spirit really working in a society appointed representative. lol

i am in the middle of publishing my book on my exit from the jws.
it is still hosted on freeminds, but is undergoing revision to clean up grammar, spelling, split a couple of chapters and add a couple of chapters.
i will also be adding an appendix of correspondence with the watchtower society.
Thanks Jim, I'll look for it on the net when it comes out. Glad you wrote down your story and are getting it published for others to read.

were there any folks in your congregation that had really big voices, no pitch, and a tone-deaf ear?
we had a whole family of them.
i recall one night the wife was particularly off key--even going on past when the music stopped, getting off on the wrong line, etc.
I sing and play with a band but during my JW times any music that wasn't JW was bad. Actually I find JW's aren't big music lovers or at least where I lived and they basically frowned upon playing an instrument because it detracted from your service time. Maybe they were uptight in the congregation I was in but they all thought playing music other then kingdom melodies was foolishness.
Haha and they wonder why no sane person would want to live forever as a JW.

Whats the name of the book going to be Jim so that I can look for it when it comes out, and is it going to be available from a variety of publishers?

I forgot to mention that a congregation I was part of had an elder that was in that position for many years and was accused by his daughter for sexual abuse, this of course was hush hush. His daughter to this day has never spoken a word to him. Well later he was df'd and it apparently had something to do with his baby granddaughter and the whole family came down to see his DF'ing, as I cant say for sure he was a repeat pedophile, as I wouldnt know all the fine details, but it seems very coincedental. Now ask yourself how can holy spirit be behind something like this when he was an elder for roughly 10 years, and how could he have the gull to disfellowship ones for such pettiness as smoking or drinking, when he himself was guilty of much more serious sins. That was one of the other pieces of the puzzle that really put the JW's into perspective for me. I knew that their was no way God was ever behind the elders when they had such secret sins as that. It was all a scam.

Read Ray's experience in Crisis of Conscience which covers this very subject of appointing elders and CO's, etc..
The Governing body does not appoint the elders or pray over their names as is often thought by the R & F but rather elders appointment is decided upon by the elder body and reinforced with the visiting CO's approval. As for the Org. men such as CO's and DO's and such, they are appointed by their service track record, and the names the GB look at are just that names. They know nothing personal of them and strickly look at service hours and their past theocratic record.

aliens helped build noah's ark
file: ufo224
ancient tests reveal that noah's ark was built with the help of space aliens and that it was actually a submarine especially made to help him survive the great flood, say experts.

in the sept 1st watchtower, an article entitled: 'mennonites search for bible truth', i came across this paragraph...
' in bolivia, for instance, an estimated 38.000 mennonites live in numerous remote colonies, each with different rules of conduct.
some colonies forbid motor vehicles, permitting only horses and buggies.
Shall we Say "Pot Calling The Kettle Black" Haha the watchtower is really being a sarcastic bunch or asses or they really think the R & F are gullible to swallow this. Sad thing they will probably read this and nod their heads like a bunch of good sheep. Yes sir Yes sir 3 bags full.
