  but weirdly enough, i've been mentioned here before, when one of my posts at lj (about whether or not subjection to the organization is relative) caused a bit of a war among ljjws.

  i found this forum googling my username, actually.

  i was wondering if anyone here has any theories as to why it is that, the more meetings we skip, the less we want to go.

  Im not questioning your loyalty to Jehovah, Im trying to make you think about how inherently evil it is for a group of men to impose their views of the scriptures and conscience on other people - ESPECIALLY when those views flip flop around so much. I'm glad your here though.. I dont mean to sound too harsh.

  Hi Poi Poi, I dont mean any disrespect but I have a real hard time when witnesses try to gloss over their religion by saying its run by 'imperfect men' that manipulate people on whatever whim they feel in the name of God. Obviously you havent had a family member die from refusing a blood transfusion or organ transplant, or been sexually molested and had it covered up by the elders. If you could put yourself in those peoples shoes you and you know the truth about the 'truth' you would feel differently. I hope you have some empathy.. stick around and educate yourself.

  Reinstatement procedure

  does anyone out there know the procedure to being reinstated?

  i have been df'd for almost 5 years now and i'm considering... possibly getting reinstated.

  however, i have been to a few meetings in the last few weeks and i am constantly ignored (i thought the elders were allowed to talk to me... there are at least 10 elders) also, i enquired about getting a bible study and was told that i could not have a bible study because df'd people do not get studied with.

  For your sake, please reconsider becoming a JW again. Their religion is demonstrateably false. If you stick around on this board and do some research you won't want to go back.. in fact you'll probably want to run the hell away.

  Disassociating and giving up Christianity has been great for me. I have no regrets at all, I feel really free.

  Hi Peggy,

  After reading your post I really felt I had to reply. Most of the time I just lurk around here and read other experiences, but I feel I can really relate to the situation you are in. I had some real problems with alcohol over the past few years. I don't think my doubts about the org. over that time was a coincidence either. I couldnt make what they were saying work in my mind and all of the guilty feelings for not 'doing enough' was driving me insane. The only escape I had and way to deal with it was alcohol. The religion was turning me into something that I wasn't. I disassociated myself a few months ago after doing a bunch of research on the society and reading 'Crisis of Conscience' by Ray Franz. I feel a lot better and I haven't been overdrinking at all. I don't know if it will be the same for you but I just thought I'd relate that and let you know that you arent alone.

  Do Jehovah's Witnesses keep records on people?

  i have known some people (i dont' know if it's true or not) [and i am the kind of person that doesn't like to cause trouble] who have said that jehovah's witnesses keep tabs/records on people.

  all the things they have done like if they got babtized, personal problems/experiences, arguments they may had with people, and just their general conduct as well.

  have any people here found out about a "black book" where they keep records on you?

  Welcome. They even keep a record of you being disfellowshipped and what you were disfellowshipped for at 'bethel' after you die.

  i was the "bad association" for the young hero of that riveting tale.

  all i could think of was the drama ending, going to lunch and sucking down a couple of muff'n'eggs followed by a danish, washed down with some shasta, and a pudding cup.

  i just prayed my mom would rashion me out enough food-tickets to handle the job.

  I was Josiah in a drama once. It was the gayest part imaginable. I sat on a throne playing a harp and singing. The elder who was in charge of the program got his two snotty sons to play the honorable Christian's in the modern part of the act. Go figure.

  What do ya do on a boring weekend???

  lol it kinda sucks.

  i had my first week at my new job (so a little stressed) and my big sis and i had planned on spending the weekend together.

  then she decided it wasn't a good weekend when i was all ready.. anyway, what are good ways to have fun when you're bored and have nothing to do all weekend and no one to go anywhere with?

  After you blast her with all this stuff show her some info on cults.., perhaps the FBI website or if you have it the book 'Combating Cult Mind Control'
